Conversation of the Day

Today was like most days at practice with my team. They worked hard and we had a really good day. While the girls were packing up their gear one of the moms and I were having a discussion about her daughter. The daughter was feeling some pain in her throwing arm and I was tossing out some possibilities. While the conversation was going on the player's just-turned 8 year old sister was standing there listening intently to the conversation.

When the mom and I were done talking the youngster asks me if I was a doctor. I tell her no I'm not. Then she asks me if I would like to be a doctor. I respond that I wouldn't mind being a doctor, but I'm too old to think about becoming one. Then, while making a slicing motion down the front of her she tells me, "I wouldn't want to be a doctor, you have to cut people open and look at their testicles." It took me the better part of 5 minutes to stop crying I was laughing so hard.

It made my whole day. :P  :D

:o What do you think that she meant? Intestines? But, I can't figure out why she would know either word.

Art Linkletter used to have a segment called Kids Say the Darnedest Things. I think your episode would win the prize.

It reminds me of the time my daughter was just learning to read and as we were grocery shopping she grabbed the list and started reading it. She got to the 4th or 5th item and asked said, "tam, tamp. What is this Daddy?" I said, "tampons" she said, "what is that?" I said, "you will have to ask your mother one day." With my wife 2 aisle's over my daughter proceeded to ask at the top of her lungs, "MOMMA, WHAT'S TAMPONS?"

There was a little girl left all alone in the middle of an aisle as her Daddy ran and hid.

To funny Treck.

Son was 3 and my wife was driving him home from his grandmothers house. A car next to her started changing lanes into her. My wife honked the horn and my son promptly yelled, "Dam, want a drink of water"? My wife curious honked the horn again and my son promptly said it again. My wife was curious and asked me what he was saying. I turned bright red and explained that the day before I was driving him to the store. A woman in a SUV cut me off and stopped for a green light. I honked the horn and yelled, "Dam woman driver!"

When my little brother was about 3 we (mom+dad and 3 kids) were bundled up for church one cold Sunday morning and sitting in the old '63 Pontiac while my dad tried to get it to start. After several minutes of cranking and pumping and cranking with no joy, my little brother stood up in the back seat, tapped my dad on the shoulder, and informed that "this is when mommy says g**dammit"

My mother had my three children and were going down the road, my oldest daughter was 6. A guy was broke down on the road and was trying to flag someone down to help and was frustrated no one would stop. My 6 year old could see he was upset and asked my mother why. She told he was having car trouble and no one would stop and help. My daughter asked if they could help him. Mom told her no and she asked why. Mom told her because he was a stranger. Mom said a look of fear came over her face as she said "that's the STRANGER"'

When my oldest was 5, I took her fishing with me. I was using lures and putting night crawlers on her hook. After an hour of 'no bites', I look over to see her putting I wild strawberry on her hook. I said, 'Honey, fish don't eat strawberries' , she said " Fish don't eat plastic " ... then she went on to further prove my lack of intellegence by catching the first fish of the day on the strawberry ...

My in-laws are from Sweden, were living in Santa Rosa, CA when my son was 3. He had a bit of a speech impediment , not being able to pronounce the letter R. I was working back east at the time and my in-laws and wife were invited to a prestigious dinner at the Swedish embassy in San Francisco. The swedish ambassador was taken by my son and had them sit near him for dinner. Just as the food was being served, my son announced - in a loud 3 y/o's voice ' Please, I need a fork' (imagine that without the R) - my in-laws were horrified, wife crawled under the table, but the ambassador asked 'Excuse me, young man, what is you need ?.' Son says again 'I really need a fork' (imagine how it sounded - again). But the sharp ambassador says "Of course, who could expect you to eat without the proper utensils." with a huge grin on his face and ordered the servant to bring the young man - his fork.
