Spazsdad if you are searching for Indy Dreams-Montgomery they played NSA Nationals in 2009 as far as I know. They had a Great Finish for a 13U team in 09. They will be one of the Top 14U teams in this area for sure. I would suspect he will play more 16U in 2010.

In My opinion 14U- Dreams- Montgomery, Indy Blast will be right there also.
16U- Dreams- Reese, Shockwaves 93

For what it's worth, here are my thoughts

14U---Dreams (Montgomery)-- very talented and well coached (Don't know how much 14U
they plan to play--if any)
Shockwaves--did well last year as 1st year 14's--should only get better
Indy Blast---were a very good 12U team last year and with the key additions they've
made, they might have enough to beat the other two teams, it depends
upon how they come together as a team.

16U---Shockwaves 93--debating them as the preseason #1 at 16U would seem pointless and
misguided. Have the majority of their team back and have replaced the
girl's that they lost with other talented players. Without a doubt they
have earned the title of preseason favorite in Indiana (or Chicagoland)
through their consistent results at the USA/ASA Nationals year after
year (sorry Doane Zone, 2nd place at 14U Northern Nationals is great--
but just doesn't carry the same prestige). Hopefully, we're all on here a
year from now debating next year's preseason favorites and it's much
more difficult to choose, due to the fact that three or four area teams
all had great finishes at the USA/ASA Nationals!

Contenders----Dreams (Reese)-- very talented, always in the hunt
Magic Gold 16U---I may be a little biased toward them ;)
Xplosion
Michiana Mystique--talented, may be qualifying out of Michigan this year
Chix
Gators
Wizards
Akadema (both)
Xtreme
Raider's
I'm sure I'm leaving somebody out----sorry I don't mean to slight anybody else!

Scooby Doo,

Great job. I definitely agree the Shockwaves 93 are the best 16U team in Indiana, but also stand behind my "best in the midwest" comment. Even if Doane Zone disagrees, I think they've earned it when it counts and where it counts.

I think Reese's team is right behind TW's team. But will take TW's team when they play for the title.

I also think Doane's daughter does play on a very very talented Homer Hawk team. Seeing a friendly between the three of these teams would be worth the price of admission.

Who is the zone with? Who is TW? If they are playing with a group of 2nd year 14s and a few HS girls, how are they going to start talking trash at 16U? 14U ASA northern is a bunch of teams from whatever city it's and few others! If you haven't played the SW, watch out! Give them some bulliten board material for this summer! You better be playing the best schedule or you won't even see them! Same with the dreams!I hope they are good! the better the competition the better for all the girls! Be careful what you wish for!! you might just get it!

Fastpitch Fool...I would love to get the SW 93, Dreams Reece, and Homer Hawks to come to Louisville and play us (16U Lady Sluggers). If you have contact info for those teams, please let me know. We can get access to Ulmer Stadium at UofL. We had originally planned to play in a NQ in state the weekend of June 25-27 but it appears to not have a 16U division. We leave for the Colorado Fireworks that Sunday and want to get some quality games in before we head out there. I'd say if all 4 teams got together it would be a good day of softball and Coach Pearsall at UofL would definitely be there to watch and show any prospective athletes around campus. PM me if you think this might be a possibility. I can get in touch with Coach Pearsall to get dates reserved.

I never said anything about the Hawks "ranking" in the midwest or made any comparison to SW 93. If anything, I deferred to those who have seen them play. I only said we don't back down from a good challenge. What self-respecting coach wouldn't do the same?

Hawks are in Wisconsin for a NQ right before Colorado....I know that they are offering practice games Monday & Tuesday. Maybe as we get closer we can work something out for then.

We are considering a qualifier in Illinois if we can't get a friendly arranged. We're planning on playing three scrimmages on Mon and Tues so surely we can get 1 of the 6 against each other.

Zone,
If your talking 16U Homer Hawks, been there done that! 14U, 16U and 18 gold! 3-0 for the Dreams Reese! It's great you want to play the best!! Alot of teams hide and play lesser competition! Shockwaves are stil the best, till beaten!
Slugger,
Dreams will be at Uof L in the fall for the 3rd time for a friendly in sept!
Who goes out of state for a friendly on monday or tuesday? Just got home the night before! Weekend are full right now! the fall would be the best time to try and get them together. Dreams and Waves would do that before some weak tournament!1 Have some fun, play some ball, adults alittle parking lot time!!

@ looking in - You must not be, as you put it, going out of state over the 4th. Teams playing in Colorado, such as the Hawks Black, have to check in, as a team, on Monday, with games starting on Wednesday.

See ya on the ballfields.
