Top 14U Norcal team

by lvtwft » Fri Apr 02, 2010 8:27 pm

The thing about sports, is you are only as good as your last tourney/game/match etc.
I am going off Brackies list of top So-Cal teams and he has a lot more exp than most trying to figure out whom is where and how good they are.
With that said, a 96 team is ranked 5th overall for all 14's.
The Breeze and Lady Magic both beat them at different times over the last few months.
This year at 14U Nats, I could get good odds if a few 96's made the top ten.
You can not be certain at this, it is fun to speculate. To give IMO's to everyone.
So IMO, if you beat a top 5 team from So-Cal, that does make you the team to beat up NORTH, until proven otherwise...

Jeez people...
I bet if you were all sitting at a table drinking beer, you would be saying the same stuff, but laughing at the same time.

Great post Iluvblue! I wasn`t comparing anyone to anyone else. I was just asking who the other teams were. You`re right, i do believe the Sorcerers are the best, followed closely by the Grapettes. I haven`t seen the Sting, they always seem to be in a different tourney.

As far as the Nationals, Breeze was knocked out by the Jynx in international tie break after a questionable call would have ended the game in the Breeze favor. Jynx went on to finish second. Had nothing to do with a favorable bracket, the Breeze girls just played well. This is going to be alot of fun this spring/summer! Again, i hope everyone stays healthy. Good luck to all.... even you Mr know it all!!

Style your facts are wrong. Lady Magic beat the Power Surge on a Sunday. They lost the Championship game to the Corona Angels

Mrknowitall "knocked out of the circle (literally)" -Really?
At a time when we are reading about girls in coma's and others with serious head injuries I find this remark classless and in bad taste. Shame on you and shame on heybucket for allowing it. Anyone making light of a 12 year old girl - or anyone for that matter - taking a line drive to the head should be removed from this site.

Winning ONE game against a top SoCal Team is not a strong indicator of future success. As said above, consistency in performance seems the best measure. Just check out the tournament results (almost always in the money) and W/L records of the top SoCal teams.

Like it was stated before LM did it on Sunday and came in 2nd in that tourney.
I do believe the Breeze came top 5 in the tourney they did it in.
This early in the season you have to go by "what you have done for me lately".
They went down to the home of the best and in their backyard beat them (not only the #5 but other ranked foes).
I agree they have to do that on a on going basis to be considered the top team at the end of the season, but for this part of the season it is a very good measuring stick of how good they are or capable of being on any given Sunday...IMO

I only saw Lm once, and that was last Fall.

Right now the 14u division is playing with only half of the division... not close to the same division after HS ends. Not to mention MANY 12u teams play in 14u at this time of the year.

LM did not reach the finals of the tourney I saw them at. They played very well and are no doubt a good team.

There are other good teams as well, and to say they or Breeze are the team to beat up North based upon that one tournament is ridiculous.
