Wow!!! What’s going with this last post? After reading all this self worship I think we should all just stop playing the game and be lucky this team is making the rest of us viable in the state if not just Nor Cal. Whatever happened to humbleness & humility. Hey believe me I'm not jealous, mad, upset or a HATER. My resume is cool and will stand by itself. I am also pretty confident of my knowledge in Nor Cal softball and of softball in general. I'm a realist and have been involved with this game for quite some time now both as a parent and a coach to understand who’s good, who’s bad, who’s great & who’s the goat. And while this RR team has been somewhat successful in its journey so far, please cool out and relax from all the we're #1 speeches and propaganda. Frankly while all the personal "self" opinion polls are pretty cool & fun, not to mention overly addictive and obsessive to some, who gives a rats a** whether you're #1 or 100. What is it really going to get you at the end of the day, another medal or some tummy tight t-shirt to wear? I don’t think so. These polls have absolutely no bearing other than somebody's own opinion. I will admit though they are funny for thirst of self approval. I understand RR has been taking some heat on HB, some warranted by parent’s reactions, some brought on by just stupidity and ignorance. The reality is to the RR Gold 10U girls, great job this weekend in performing like an older 10U team-that-has-been-together-for-awhile-should-have. Now the outright ignorance is making statements from the side-sitters (parents) that because RR has been sooooo dominant that is the only reason So Cal teams entered the Fresno Force tourney. Whoaaaa!! Hold on "Fanny Boy". The Force has been a premiere tourney in the state long before your team was even known to be born. The HB blogs should not be your source of reality and facts. Frankly this is the first time I have seen any RR Gold team at any level participate in this event since I have been involved. This is ASA after all hint hint. For your information the So Cal teams were going to be apart of this event whether or not your RR team was going to be there or not. Just to add to the point that the only reason the So Cal teams that did come to Fresno was because the So Cal's Finest Tournament in Hemet didn't offer a 10U division last weekend. That’s why the impact of the 12’s & 14’s were down this year. I’m also going to let you in on another secret. Too many, Nor Cal is still just a bleep in the minds of many in So Cal, sorry. So what was accomplished in Hemet really didn’t matter to them, especially when most of their teams were in Las Vegas that weekend. Moving on to talent; your team didn’t let the World know Nor Cal has talent. That was and has already been established long ago. Just not the amount So Cal has. To have 8 million people in a region makes a difference.
Quote “Lastly, RR has proven they could hang with the best SoCal has to offer. Its because of RRs play and competitiveness that has all the other NorCal team wanting to elevate their game to RR's level and wanting to prove that they too also belong. Its why the kids (and to a higher degree, why the coaches and parents) want so very badly play RR to prove this very point. Am I wrong?”
Finally, it’s great to hang with a certain team or a group of teams for a tourney, but it is the consistency of hanging & playing these teams every weekend for 6 to 7 months that will dictate your greatness or failure. Your comments state if not for 1 inning of errors we were close. I’m sure every team that plays regardless of age or division could and has said the same thing. That’s just the game of Softball. Also I really hope you are not misguided & blinded to think that RR Gold is the standard that teams are striving for. Yes my HB friend, you are very wrong! The kids could care less. Furthermore they are oblivious to all this. What they do understand is wins & losses, not elevating there game to your supreme status or proving they belong on the playing field with you. Now the parents and maybe some coaches are a different story. But my DD team and coaching staff are pretty secure and confident in their own teachings (been there, done that). Experience has been the best teacher for them. I know for sure our team is not wondering, worrying or hoping to see if your team is in a tourney or not. We will play in the events that are deemed to be considered COMPETITIVE!!
Quote “Its not to say that the 10U RR is the best ever but every now and then there comes a special team that people talk about.”
Fanny Boy, this is the best statement yet, especially when nothing has been accomplished yet other than a couple local tourney wins and oh yeah defeats (remember). So to clue you in on the reality of Nor Cal 10U please take notes ………
2006-All American Sports Academy 5th place ASA Nationals
2006-Salinas Storm 9th place ASA Nationals
2007-California Breeze 17th place ASA Nationals
2007-All American Sports Academy 2nd place ASA Western Nationals
2008-Sorcerer 13th place ASA Nationals
2008-San Jose Sting 13th place ASA Nationals
2008-All American Sports Academy 17th place ASA Nationals
2009-Team Unity 5th place ASA Nationals
2009-California Breeze 7th place ASA Nationals
2010-????
Now these teams would qualify to be #1 in Nor Cal if it mattered!! You have to PLAY ASA! Not, well you know the other!
Please be humble and enjoy your team, the girls are the one’s executing in the end, not the editorials!
