How about the weather forecast for this weekend?!?!? It is not looking like any of these matchups will occur...Is anyone pulling out due to the probability of rain? 60% sure is high!

Are you surprised now?

But to completely ignore 97 Glory would be a foolish mistake on your part. If I am not mistaken, I believe they have the Red Hots old pitcher back with them. Guess they got tired of that long drive from DFW to Houston. Also, this 97 Glory team has beaten 96 Fusion on more than one occasion, beaten DBat Mulvaney on more than one occasion and just this past weekend beat the 96 Diamonds. Now am I not here to suggest they are necessarily better than any of those 3 teams, but they are talented enough to get victories over those teams. Those 3 teams are considered some of the best first year 14U teams in DFW. I dont think any of those Houston teams, with the exception of Red Hots, has that kind of resume. However, that is why we play the games because on any given day, one team can win and the other can lose. But based on track record and skins on the wall, in my opinion, 97 Glory has to be considered one of the favorites to finish Top 3, and to not do so would be considered an upset.

Feeling kind of foolish now? So is this good or bad for the Houston teams resumes? What I am really reading into this post though, is that Dallas 12u AND 14u should stay north because there's a bees nest of trouble waiting for them in the south.

Choked hard at Southern nationals last summer and lost several players because of it. Our Houston teams are far superior coached in game than Glory.

Basically what you're saying is, 97 Glory has great recruiting but poor coaching. I can agree with that.

He is not a good recruiter either, from what I have been told he went behind old coaches back and rooted him out. That team used to be very well respected down here in Houston because of the way they played the game and the sportmanship they always displayed but not anymore. They are not even a close to the team they once were. As far as the RedHots pitcher who went to them it was more of the RedHots choice for her to be gone. Maybe Glory should turn back the clock and have a do over of getting rid of their old coach. I wish them well.

Congrats to all of our Houston area teams this past weekend, what a display of softball.

True. Parents revolt-get daddy ball wish. Add a couple players-new head coach becomes puppet.

What gets me is I can't understand why that team would do something like that? The old head coach won alot of big time games. 5th at ASA A Nats in 10U along side our Houston TPS was the best showing for Texas. Then they go to Southern Nats last summer with new guy with 8 teams and fall flat on their face. Same thing is about to happen to this guy as you mentioned the Sweet Gold parents are bad news. What goes around comes around and its coming around now!

Lets see...Storm Elite, Texas Ice, Texas Red Hots and High Voltage went 1-2-3-4 in Midland. Not only did the Houston area dominate, but these four team all have home fields within 20 minutes of each other. Looks like those in the Houston area are not such IDIOTS and the only HOMERS I saw were the ones hit over the fence by Houston area teams. Future advice...nothing wrong with backing your area and supporting your teams, but you might want to refrain from calling us IDIOTS. Nothing like being made to look foolish by an IDIOT.
