My DD's team from Altamont won the first regional in 8 years today. She is the shortstop as a freshman. Cool

Way to go Altamont. I was raised in Shelbyville and played my ASA ball in Casey. Small world.
Back in my college days, Altamont was known for the Shutzenfest. (sp?) Craziest dang thing i have ever been to. I guess they had to tone it down, in the late 70s, but I can still remember the buckets of beer. Amy

Altamont is 1 hour south of Champagne and 1:15 west of st louis. also i had a bucket of beer last sept. and surprising not bad for a bucket of beer.

Flexman, keep drinking. Altamont isn't west of St. Louis. 
Anyway, Altamont is so little that it isn't in my new atlas. It is south of Cowden, a little ways.
How big is the HS? And have you merged with another school district? Where do you drive to to play travel ball? i think there was a pitcher from there named Schroeder, but i bet it has been 8 years, now.

yeah sorry aqbout the west thing i'm slightly mentaly challenged. my dd plays for the mattoon pride14 u. another girl from here pklays as well. there was a schroeder girl who played in college. also a pitcher Dani Ledbetter who was a heck of a pitcher.

the high school has a about 350 kids now. we haven't consolidated with anyone.
