Just been real busy this late summer ... kids going to, or going back to college ... work, play,beating the wolves from the door, blaa blaa blaa ... All is okie with my dokies though ... thanks for the shout out ... I've yaked with Donnie a little bit ... He has many irons in his fire as well, but is still very much vertical ...

Also thanks for the shoutout. World changed in april, wife diagnosed with very serious heart trouble, and like a lot of others, been looking for work since early may, currently working on a small ranch doing manual labor. 20 y/o is at school, getting ready for her soph year of school and softball, 16 y/o is playing vball at school, practicing her softball when she can, though I am not around much anymore.

Visited Florida 4 weeks ago and read where 12% there were still looking for work. I don't see where we'll pull out of this economy soon but it will come...eventually.

Thirty years ago I decided to use a similar situation to hire myself as the owner of my own company. I know as we get older it's tough to start over, but if you can come up with a plan to market your skills it may be well worth the hassle....12-14 hour days, 6-7 work days sometimes, govt. regulation up to your neck, hundreds of bosses = customers. Would I have it any other way? HELL NO! You control your future and there's simply no better way.

Did the same thing 30 years ago - big mistake I made 5 years ago was pick one very big project which was to be my last project, my retirement project. 5 years kept me out of circulation with my contacts, i didnt need that anymore, I was retiring, 12/31/09 was the date, but that company, that big last project - folded. Control your future - you hope you do - I thought I did.

Now I look back on the days when softball was part of my world.

No choice on starting over - working on that now, appreciate the prayers, hopefully He listens to you - He damn sure doesnt listen to me.

Donnie, Like me, you may need to learn to pray. For 50 years, I thought that I knew how. But, then I walked away from a church that was teaching me nothing and found a bible based southern baptist church, where people stood right up and asked for what they needed.

I studied the Prayer of Jabez and it was a life changer for me.

Good luck, I knew when I sent you the e-mail about a new team called the Rainbows, that you must be busy with other stuff.

Like I have told a few of you, I hope someday for softball to be a part of my life again.
