College World Series Announcers

What's on your mind?

by DonnieS » Sat May 31, 2008 6:38 pm

great lines from the announcers -

" ULL is led by a great two-some (which I totally and wholeheartedly agree, the Lotiefs are awesome people) that have led their Ragin Cajins to two College World Series this year. "

Damn, which I would have heard about the other College World Series this year

"The reason these college pitchers can pitch multiple games in a day is because they ice down after each game."

Oh really.

Watching John Kruck (SP) try to hit a softball pitched by Mendoza - was classic!!!
When asked how many times she hit Tiger with the golf club, she responded, "I'm not sure...put me down for an 8!

I have seen that before - some of the stud baseball players around here have asked to bat against dd. They all struggle early - but a good experienced player after several - or many tries - will get it, once they get the timing down.

I have lost count of the stupid things these announcers have said. Some of their explanations of the rules are just plain wrong. I personally think Kruk on more than one occasion has almost lost it. I'm wondering if ESPN has finally figured out that they have to upgrade the quality of their on-air talent. LOL.

Whenever they show Kruk on air, he looks so uncomfortable that it's painful to watch. He has got to be asking himself what he did to draw this assignment.

Smitty is the ALL-TIME worse announcer I've ever heard and it's not even close!

Jessica Mendoza is my TV girlfriend. You can have Eva Longoria. I'll take the pretty girl who can hit 250ft. bombs!

You had to love Smith's advice to ULL hitters against Texas A&M...."they need to sit on Gibson's changeup"....who promptly pitched the final inning throwing nary a changeup and hitting 68 mph on the gun. How exactly would Smith look for a changeup and then, recognizing a fastball, gear up to hit a ball which is already on its way back to the pitcher????

I saw that too! :D

Funny thing is - back in High School and her time with Impact Gold - she did NOT have that sick change up! But she was still dominate in every aspect of the game.

Her offensive preformance at Gold Nationals is the stuff of Legends!
