Midland ballpark, ONE ice chest per team??!!

What's on your mind?

by frogs_mom_15 » Fri Jun 06, 2008 9:15 pm

Just visited the Midland website and read the info packet. ONE ice chest per team and no outside food or drinks!!

With girls coming from all over the states, alot of these young women aren't climatized to that kind of sever heat! Only got a couple of days to try and adjust. I hope the parking lot isn't to far away, cause I see myself making ALOT of trips to the cooler. Guess the team might want to look into buying one of those monster tire, could sneek lil' bro in, sized coolers. ;)

Here at the local park, they aren't allowing tail gating.

It is getting nuts.

Oh, and they monitor what size water bottle you can carry in.

Midland had to be one of the hottest places we have ever played for nationals! You HAVE to start your girls drinking lots of water now. It was VERY hot, you could not even sit in the sun for a few mins without getting sick...I don't know when ASA will wake up and have nationals somewhere other then the hottest places on earth. And they say it's not about the money! BULL

I will say not all the parks were that bad about bringing in ice chest..some of the smaller parks let them in. But that was a few years ago too, things change.

If this is true - it is complete and total bullshit!

They are going to mess around and get someone killed in that kind of heat

and for what????

Money! Plain and simple.

I hope someone stops me when I bring in my 150 qt Igloo cooler....

This is beyond pointless / stupid / shortsighted / arrogant / reckless / moronic!

They better have IV's hanging in the dugout - ready to go!

If every parent that went there, brought there coolers and refused to let their kid play in this tournament, they would change this rule. We are the paying public and we should all email ASA powers to be and let them know our displeasure with this rule.

That is a great idea.

I found Midland to be very hot but luckily there was some wind that helped cool it down. Parking lots are very close. I also remember bringing in pretty much what we wanted as they were not checking very well. Great BBQ smoking all the time. Best thing was you did not have to worry about foul balls as there was netting over the top of all the bleachers.

Every place was hot, yesterday. The weather channel says that it was 100 degrees in Richmond, VA.

I do think that parks should allow all the ice and water brought in that people want to carry. Why fill the land fills with plastic bottles?

At the UofA games there is free water sat up just outside the bleachers.
