I was personally told your odds go up if you play for a established organization. The specific ones he suggested where both Glorys, Texas Elite and Bat Busters not to say a player on a indepentent cant make its just harder. This was a D1 coach at the D-bat camp.

Kevin Shelton gave a 40 minute presentation on recruiting at the Baylor Coaching Clinic and seemed to have a pretty good relationship with Coach Moore. I'm not a rocket scientist but I believe your chances of being looked at by them would increase tremendously if you played in his Org. And the others probably have influence also...

“I want to show you just how scarce those softball scholarships really are. And, why it might really be better to play softball because you absolutely love it and/or want to get better at it, instead of playing it in order to get a softball scholarship.

I could be wrong, but I think Crushers original intent was to suggest focusing on having fun with the game first...a quality a lot of parents seem to have forgotten. We would all love to see our DD play at the college level, but why steal (pardon the softball pun) the right of the DD to be kid like we were and enjoy the game while they can? If other benefits come from that love of the game later that is an added bonus.

Ok read all the inputs .so here is my shout out.

My DD played D1 2A for UTSA. Last yr was her Sen. Yr. The team your DD plays for is very important, but not a complete make or break type deal. If she doesn't play for one of the top teams in the area there are several thing that can help her be recruited. Have her start looking at def. schools go to there camps. Have her skills and face tied together with whom she is interested in. At the camps the coaches can speak to them, start early like the 7th or 8th grade. You would be suprised, I remember Coach Evans saying one time to me and I quote 'yeah Kara's won of ours she been at camp the last 4 yrs". And she recieved a nice package from A&M. Thats just one way.

Thats the other thing most schools don't give fresh. full rides. 40 to 80 % until they prove by winning acalades in there conference. The coaches us that as incentives. You want more go show me ur the best in conference.

In the 3 yrs we had 90% of our girls move to the next level. Yes it was expensive ,BUT I would do it again.... AND if they Don't LOVE it They won't play!!! they will get to there school and screw up somewhere. grade to much parting BF or GF will mess them up. Seen it ! it ain't pretty. Coaches poor out all that cash and get nothing.

There are no soft degree's these kids ussauly study on the bus rides that can be 12 hr's or more sometimes. So they work hard for that piece of paper trust me.

Oh and remember heard this every yr lmao If you won't to coach at this level get a degree... lol this is my team........

Good luck with your DD 's again if they love it they will make it happen.

I don't know how any coach that wants to be in the top 20 can afford to not give any freshman full rides. That would remove them from consideration by a fair number of top recruits who are being offered free rides by other schools. Similar thinking applies to colleges and players below the top where the player's talent warrants full ride offers from multiple schools. My recruiting knowledge is far from vast, so I may be wrong.

Nutless Wonder
10 years from now I'll wish I felt like I do these days.

I would amagin top 20 schools would give more full rides but not all Fr. get one trust me. REMBER it is a buissness. You will see they try to lock down as many as they can with what resources they have. You shall see. Even the big schools top 20 ,they just don't have the budget to have say 12 girls on a full ride.

On our team the 4 yrs we were there. The pitchers, sen. & fielders if they were all conf. were full. And if you had an absolute stud coming out of H.S. maybe. (Cantu out of Alvin) My DD was a 90% jr yr and full sr. yr. they do try to keep it quiet but after a while you know lol....

Remember they carry 15 to 17 players . They don't have a budget like football or baseball.

Also these coachs are looking for certain position players. So they will put there money out there to try and bring that girl in. Your DD may be all everything but if they already have a kid there the money is tied up.

I learned real quick every kid in the Col. level hit .400 or better in H.S. We would laugh coach would say man this recruit can crush it. But every girl in the conf. could crush it.
