Switch Hitter, Do i leave her lefty??

What's on your mind?

If she's truly almost equal in ability from either side of the plate, I see no reason why you wouldn't want to fully-commit to LH. She's already done most of the hard work - might as well capitalize on it.

Clearly, the "Holy Grail" of softball is the LH hitter with speed who can bunt, slap and hit for power. As a rule, however, I would rather a player focus on becoming a much better hitter from her natural side than spend the time trying to learn how to hit for power from the opposite (LH) side. It takes a tremendous amount of work and unless the player is fairly fast and has the potential of performing at the elite level, I see limited utility in switching over.
