Hmmm...no, can't say I've seen anyone with a sarape or sombrero on. Just lots and lots of people swimming in jeans and other everyday clothing. It's a bit of an odd cultural phenomenon, imo, but to each their own. I certainly wasn't putting anyone down for it.
Now the sea of rubbish that is typically left behind at day's end is another story altogether...
