4-the-kids

I was just pointing out the teams that many of the top 12's teams would also beat if playing 14's.

I really like Sorcerer98 team alot and have supported them from day one....Check the rankings!!!!

Best of luck to you 4-the-kids.

Clearly the top 2 teams in the 12s are the Smash & Sorcerer 98, in no particular order but would probably have to give it to Smash right now based on head to head results. Everybody else is just fighting to be mentioned in the mix. #3 on down will flip flop as the season plays out but #1 & #2 will remain status quo, barring any major departures and/or injuries.

Smash has been consistently good all year & taking care of business.

Sorce 98 very impressive playing 14s even winning a 14 tourney with top caliber 14 teams (name any other 12 that has come close to that or dared to match what they have done in 14s) They're not doing anything different than top two 12s in socal are doing by playing up (see 98 Firecrackers & 98 Victory) Yeah they could play a few good teams in 12s but why do that when you can hang with 14s & get challenged every game. The ultimate goal is to get better by nationals folks & not always winning the local tourneys.

So this daddy ball ranking with coaches/parents (Tenshun & others) trying to make their dds team look good is just that. How do you justify friendlies counting in your equation for your rankings when there are so many variables involved & nothing on the line regardless if your trying to win. Please  Also, if you haven't ventured outside of NorCal & played other top caliber teams or aren't aware of other top caliber teams, you're in for a rude awakening!

Remember folks it's a marathon and not a sprint to Nationals. You have to make it there first & then do well. Nothing else matters especially if you want to toot your horn about your DDs team. After that you can brag all you want!

For the record, don't have dd in any of the teams. 8-)

Now I know why Wilson stopped positing his rankings. You put up a ranking that folks disagree with and people just go Hog wild.

Justwin, you really think Smash and Sorcerers are in a class by themselves and everyone else is just trying to get noticed? Boy, I must really not know what I'm talking about, cuz I've always thought there were a number of teams that could beat them.

But hey, sounds like I better leave the ranking stuff to all the other experts.

Feel free to post your ranking.

Hey Tenshun, why don't you just let Justwin (or Cool Breeze or maad3710, or whatever he goes by) take over the ranking system. He seems to be the know it all. Small problem though - he'll post up his rankings one day and delete all his posts the next. Just sayin...

Shucks, sorry you don't like the ranking. FYI my ranking was not based on friendlies. To try and make it fair, I actually looked up the records of all the actual tourney's I could find. This is the information I presented in the Teams Beat section. (Thanks to those who have already sent me some corrections.)

It's interesting that we have another poster who thinks that there are only 2 relevant teams in the 12u division. If there is a downfall in the TDBFR system, it's that I try to be fair and give all teams to compete and recognize them for what the accomplish on the field.

And for what it's worth, the rest have been duking it out all Spring. Weren't you watching?

Well, I think almost everyone is in agreement that Sorcerer 98 is one of the top 12u teams in Norcal. I've seen them play a few times and I always walk away impressed. I have no idea but I would venture to guess that their coaching staff is probably doing what they think is best for the team to continue on with their success and growth as players and that they hopefully don't care about what's on heybucket.

Tenshun and Gametime keep on doing what you are doing. Despite their claims otherwise don't let a few parents/posters keep you from analyzing teams. I don't get to watch as many games as you guys and it seems like you both provide pretty good scouting reports on each of the teams you rank. I find them fairly helpful and interesting.

norcalballer wrote:Well said rbi. It's all about getting your team better and getting the best competition you think you can get for your team. Obviously trophy chasing and winning a tournaments isn't the top agenda for all teams. If it was, Sorcerer 98 would of probably played all 12's tournaments and would possibly have won some of those tournaments. I think they are doing a good thing and competing well where they are. No ranking system should make them change their agenda. Smash and Breeze 98 also played in 14's tournaments as well and also did a great job and competed.

As for tenshun, who is he? He has no credentials, just a fan stating his opinion, nothing more. But when you try to take away from a team by saying they played in "weaker" or "B" tournaments (like that's the only reason they have the wins)that's when I lose all faith in your rankings. All of the top 12's tournaments have had teams that are questionable and could be classified as weaker or B teams and that doesn't take away from any of the teams that won those tournaments in the 12's. So why would you try to knock down the Sorcerer 98 team for their accomplishments. They have beat a lot of top 14's teams as well and continue to compete consistently. Hope the coaches and the girls keep up the hard work and play wherever they choose to play. Doesn't make them a lesser team.

Smash by all means deserves the #1 ranking after that i disagree with tenshun a spot or two here and there. But then again that's my opinion. I don't need to post it on heybucket and critique all the teams like I am a know it all either.

Very well said norcalballer. I agree with all of the above 100%.
