16U coaches abandon team

good grief. that particular non communication was everything.

Uhh...the guy didn't go to a tournament....he didn't run off with the team mom and take all the team's money....and it was Colorado....not ASA Nationals.....the team still went to the tournament...not that big a deal.

No "big man" boots coaches from organizations. The only organization that has anything close to that is AP. I'm betting the coaches were embarrassed and chose not to continue to help out this team.

You see, lower division teams get exactly jack squat from their organizations. Some of them do get the privilege of raising money for the 18G team and some might get an occassional field for practice. I could run a BB team tomorrow.....or an Athletic team....or a Firecracker team....or a Raider team...or a Cruiser team....nothing anybody could do about it and none of the big fellas could boot me.

So if Marty Tyson asks someone to coach his 14U team and the guy screws up, Marty cannot boot him off the team and get a new coach?

What if all the parents complain also they cannot be removed?

Like you said I heard these coaches did step down after not going to Colorado and decided not to come back.

I can run a Corona Angel team tomorrow and there wouldn't be a thing anybody could do about it. Even if he had approved this team as an organization, he has no right to remove the coach....all he could do was disown the team.

The parents can ask a coach to leave.....bottom line....its the manager's team. The players are team members. The manager is the only one who can decide that he/she leaves.

Ok Folks, Well I am a member of this team and the majority of the things that are being said are far from the truth of what really is happening. The coach in question did notify the Organizational Leader to inform him that they were not attending Colorado because of job commitments and unable to get away due to company business. The Organizational Leader told the coach not to worry he would handle the situation. The only mistake the coach made was he failed to notify the team parents of this. Lack of communication really can screw up things. So before you pass judgment and get this thread way out of hand, think before you post something because our girls do read this board and we really are trying to keep things positive for the teams sake. I can tell you this, we will be at Nationals and with any luck our coaches will be onboard with us. We all thrive on gossip but gossip is usually what destroys friendships and relationships. Get the facts first. This is a team matter and we will get through this like most teams do.

Unfortunately, not. But wouldn't it be sweet to remove complaining parents from the team.
