Don't mind saying I was dead wrong about that Breeze team.
Even though I left a little wiggle room when saying they only have the one pitcher, the team did an awesome job and deserve congratulations for winning the #1 berth.

Congrats to Cherry's Elite team too - their #1 pitcher apparently did well too. Looking at their schedule, they only had one "real" game and that was against FHG which Elite won. The next game was against Breeze which they lost. Still, they earned the #2 berth, won when they needed to. I still don't think they're a true #2 in the metro, but hey... they won it so I'll shut up!

Lady Magic is still a very good team but they couldn't pull it together when they needed to.
Some talent on that team for sure - apparently they continue to miss that "it" factor.

FHG? Well... they too have some players but not at all surprised at their results. They finished up about as I predicted.

Hype and Rapids? Hype stuck around awhile and did reasonably well. New pitcher is a BIG friggin kid and throws hard but had difficulty locating at times. The team played LM well but LM had one inning and the game checked out for the Hype. Rapids showed a real lack of pitching but more surprisingly, only a couple of girls hit the ball hard in the game I saw.

Heat just never got it together and after beating the Saints Friday night, they got rubbed out by Breeze and then were eliminated by Grapettes.

Good luck to all the teams in Colorado next week!

Congrats to Breeze and USA Elite. Job well done for both.

Breeze played well, knew what they were doing and performed when the chips were down. Nice ride for them. They look like a well coached and together team. Good Luck in Tennessee.

USA Elite. Wow, I called them a sleeper, but, what nightmares the gave everyone. Lost to Breeze in at tight 2-1 game and bombed the FG 7-0. Outstanding coaching, players believed and didn't make many mistakes. I am sure teams are still underestimating the club. Big mistake. The most upstart team and biggest upset of the Metro's weekend. Good job!!

What happened to the LM? Is this the real LM or did they just have a bad weekend? Played down to teams level and just couldn't get it going. 2nd biggest disappointment.

Biggest disappointment, Foothill Gold (no I am not a parent, but have seen them play at least 20 times the past three seasons). They ARE talented. Something is missing. #1 pitcher seems slower than two years ago. Maybe too many coaches? There should be no way they look as poor as they do. I over rated them big time. Possibly having their hotel and air fares for Nationals before Metros came back to haunt them. Plus, their actions Saturday night after their game against the Elite was timed out and they lost is inexcusable. I haven't witnessed actions by coaches that bad in years.

Overall, nice Metros. Not totally fond of the format, but all seemed to go without a hitch except for the FG outburst Saturday night. Didn't see Sunday's games, went to watch 12's at Lembi.

Great Job to Breeze and USA Elite.
I thought for sure Foothill Gold would be a favorite after Friday night. And what's up with LM players didnt look like in the past. They had some players in different positions not a good choice IMP. Coaches looked lost. Sorry to see always looked forward to watching them in the past.
Can't wait for the next weekend to see who will be there to play.

Last weekends result was exactly why I didnt pick a favorite. Its just to early (and the fact I hadnt seen the division much) to pick a winner. Teams who are clicking early can jump out and bite you. I thought the Breeze handled their business well and played well. I got to see FH Gold after seeing them only once in the fall and they have some pieces and Im sure they will get better over the summer. I didnt see the outburst that was mentioned. It seemed to be a pretty low key tournament and didnt see alot of complaining. Surprising team I think was USA Elite. They have some quality pieces over there. LM had a disappointing weekend and Im sure they will get better as well. Im sure none of the teams are hitting the panic button just yet. So the next question is did Breeze and USA accept their berth? Either team considering Premier? Curious to see if any of these teams are looking at Premier or plan to be in Tennessee when the season ends. Hopefully we can get some Nor Cal teams representing at Premier as I love the new option. Wish we had that option when my dd was playing TB. Huntington Beach is beautiful that time of year with lots to do with the family.
