You Are ASA, What Would You Do???

16U ASA Nationals in Seattle, Washington was by far the best Nationals I've ever attended. Perfect weather (not one rainy day), ocean, shopping and plenty of accomodations. Down side...traffic.
Owensboro, KY the worst, nothing to do, hot and humid and misquitos. You actually play in the corn fields.
I'd have to say that Sioux Falls, South Dakota was a wonderful surprise climate wise and the people there are very hospitable. Not much to do, but we did visit the Mitchell Corn Palace which was cool. The President's are just too far away...six hour drive.
I live in Phoenix and have to tell you that August in Phoenix is awful, but we have so many fields that all games can be played in the late afternoon and evening. After spending a week in Owensboro where I never got dry and the heat was unbearable, I was wishing I was home... except for that BBQ - that was the high spot
I've been to OKC in June twice for the Hall of Fame Championships and the downside is the weather delays for rain, lightning and tornadoes. Last year the entire loser's bracket was wiped out to make sure the tournament would finish on time. Hot, humid, bugs. Cool museums and the OKC Memorial is a must. Reasonably priced accomodations and food. Nice small airport.
My dd's team is qualified for 18G Nationals in August and I'm not looking forward to the weather, it's going to be worse than home...

Phoenix in August is the worst. We were there last year for Western Nationals and it was the worst weather I've ever been in. The girls were miserable and the parents too. Nice fields to play on come late September. My vote would be Park City but Triple Crown isn't letting that go so we will continue to attend these ASA events in the hell holes of America.

I haven't attended any ASA Nationals, but did go to USFA last year in PCB, FL. Very nice tourney with TONS to do and plenty of accomidations! Girls had a blast.
This year they are going to Midland.

What I really don't understand about some of these places everyone is reffering to as centrally located. How in is Vegas central to a team from NY??? Or FL for that matter for a team from Wash.

Open your maps one more fold people

I would like to see St. Louis, or Topeka, KS or Ceader Rapids, IA. Weather really isn't all that terrible, a little on the humid side, but not as many bugs.

My vote would be for Houston area. Houston has a lot of fields, some better than others, and in most cases, there are plenty of rooms close to them.

Las Vegas, Huntington Beach, Oklahoma or Houston are all must better than Alabama, Phoenix, or Georgia in August - I'm already sweating just thinking about it .... Just for personal reasons, I'd like to see someplace on the East Coast, like New York or Boston area - just once... I need an excuse to travel there... Do they even have softball out that way?

Of course, they do. Pretty decent college showcases in Pennsylvania and Wilimington. Plenty of fields in the DC area as well (DC hosts the PONY Nationals each year).
