ASA Nationals - Teams Qualified in Every Age Group

What's on your mind?

by ViperPride » Mon Jul 14, 2008 7:46 pm

Has any organization ever qualified teams for ASA Nationals in every age group in the same year (10A, 12A, 14A, 16A, 18A, 18Gold)?

If so, please name the organization, teams qualified, and the year.

Spazsdad,

Thanks for noticing that we were fortunate enough to do it this year. When our 18A team qualified this past weekend, we began to ask each other if it had been done elsewhere.

Part of the challenge is that many very successful organizations do not have teams in every age group, so qualifying in all ages is not possible.

The San Diego Renegades did it at least once and maybe twice. Though be it several years ago.

We have 2 just missed this year. Texas Glory would have every age, but the 12U team left Glory last month. Texas Travelers have it, except the 10U age. I don't even know if they have a 10U team.

Congrats Vipers and CA, that's a huge accomplishment for your organizations!

TX Glory
10's
(12- now the Kruzers)
14- Elliott
14- Drummond
16- Foutch
16- Naudin
18- Weddle
18- Combs
18G

Travelers
12- Lusk
14- Splash
16- Beard
18G
Just the ones I know of.

This is definitely the 2nd (and maybe the 3rd) year in a row for the Corona Angels

Well if Texas is playing horseshoes we'll chime in to.. The American Athletics came close just missing our 10's and Gold

12's - one team
14's - one team
16's - one team
18's - two teams

Congrats to the Angels and Vipers on a huge accomplishment!

No disrespect but if your Gold team don't qualify does it really count???
Also how many of your teams qualified in state???

I guess who needs to go to Nationals just stay home and work the Champions cup..
Are you still going to count Naudins berth to.. ;)

A's 12U and 16U team might be able to beat their 18 Gold team.

Kingskid,

Yes it counts because how do you feed the Gold team? As our younger divisions become stronger, then so will our upper divisions.

Also how many of your teams qualified in state???

3 out of 5. I didn't realize that we needed to qualify our qualifications but for the record.
12's - HOF (ASA considers in state)
14's - TN
16's - MA
18's - both in state

Are you still going to count Naudins berth to..

We never counted Naudin's berth - that went to the players who rejoined the Lakewood Ladies.

I guess who needs to go to Nationals just stay home and work the Champions cup..

Our 16's are working the Champions Cup

While we fell short in a couple divisions we continue to show improvement each year. We only had a couple teams qualfiying for the "big dance" a few years ago and now we're up to five. The AA's will be celebrating their 15th Anniversary in 2009, and with our continued focus we are striving to qualify at each level with the main emphasis on college exposure.

My point beeing why would a great player want to go play for a GOLD team that does not Qualify on a consistant basis. You have a few great players in the young age groups but if you can't keep them. How can your org compete against Firecrackers, Batbusters, athletics, C A, Choppers........

Example your 16u coach has a daughter if he is not the headcoach why would he stay she will end up on one of those teams. He would be hurting that girl to stay in the AA org. (She is a Stud)

How many of your teams are coached by non dads?
you can't count 18a qualifing in state so you had 1....
your 16u team went out of state early and saw nobody oopps MG did they Qualify? 2 and Q at regionals

your 14u team went to TN how did they do at So Cal State?
your 12u team well there is a good amount of local talent in South OC and you guys usually put together good 10u 12u and every know and then 14u team but without a GOOD GOLD team it is just talent that gets filtered out to NON DADDYBALL teams

Example
12u Daddy coach
14u alot of daddy coaches
16u Earnie- Daddy coach
16u ordos- Daddy coach although has a female Asst non mommy coach

Your last yeat 10u team was a couple moms right?

Not trying to bash your ORG but you can't compare your AA to these other proven GOLD winners
That filter down to younger not the other way around.
