Team California Demarini Falling Apart?

by AdmittedBias » Mon Oct 03, 2011 8:52 am

Who cares? The sponsor and the coaches are parting ways. The kids/parents will choose where their DDs will go next. Question asked and answered, turn the page on this.

Even Klein can't stop the parents craziness!!!
First mistake was keeping 14 girls for Fall Ball!!

Sofball Soccer Dad Never meant for the statement to sound like an attack on a 12 year old, was meant more like lets be realistic this team has probably the best players around which is what you get when you have approx 100 kids try out. I think that is where onlooker was going as well.

My first DD was not near the athlete of others but was a very hard worker. (Like many) I got into coaching because she wanted to play TB and in order to get her on a good team that was the way. (Not a slap in the face to her at all just being real) Took 2 or 3 years of riding pine, playing on Sat only or against a weak team on Sunday to get her there but the grils she played with were studs and she had to push her self to get there. She learned how to support her team when not playing, fight for a spot and not give up. She will take those lessons into College and the work place and be better for it.

Parents tend to forget TB is also about life lessons, learnig how to compete and work well with others. They also forget TB is a marathon not the 100 yrd dash. If you have goals of the next level Late 14s and up is what matters not 10s and 12s.

Softballsoccerdad, the sponsor and I did not dump this team. This was a coaches decision to separate from us. They informed me they did not want us to be affiliated and wanted to do their own team. We will continue to support our CPYC softball teams and their players no matter who our coaches are. If anybody tells you different, they are misinformed or not being honest.

Chris, thanks so much for clearing that up. It does make a difference, as it seems there are people wanting to cast you and the organization in a bad light over the decision, regardless of whether their feelings are based on other stuff besides this 12u team. The coaches' desire to form a team not affiliated with CYPC leads me to conclude you have clean hands here.

I know it's hard defending your work and your name and I appreciate you taking the time to clear the air and hope to hear you're organizing more youth teams in the future.

I love how an organizational question/rumor ended up being about a couple/few Dads. Maybe you don't have to look much further than that for all your answers fellas. shoe fits? pot meet kettle... looks like sh*, smells like sh*t...must be sh**>>>.........something like that.

Supposed to be about the kids, right?

Oh, and CYPC, you better start talking to her about college. Not so much the scholarships but that is the end game here for most athletes playing a sport. To ply at the highest level, right? No more Olympic softball so college is that "end game". 7th grade is NOT too early to start talking about life plans, IMHO. If not as you park "YOUR" Range Rover or BMW one evening you see that at risk cas come home to roost. (i hope not however, and I doubt it since she is obviously involved in team sports)

Just sayin'

About as far from a "Doc" as you could get... Boy would my parents have been proud. Just think tho I could get rid of this Blue Ford Truck I am driving around and pick up a euro model..

again reading into things to much.
I don't think I said any thing about DD playing softball in College. I said she will carry the life lesson's into college and the work place. The transition to College and the work place can be hard for many.

Not true... the team is fine. Lyndsey is keeping Team CA. Only the sponsor is changing. Team California will no longer be under CPYC after this season. Team California is doing great!!! Great group of coaches and an awesome group of young ladies!!! Looking forward to the spring season!!!!

Whats your thoughts on the team staying in tack our will there be major overhauls in all their rosters. Someone stated they didn't get the players they wanted on some of there teams. Haven't seen them play but it looks as if they can play with the better teams.
