I agree. . It would be nice if they started their own program. CPYC only holds them back with the shady past. I think that Eaton feels he has a draw being that he offered 'FREE". Parents would have paid to play. Besides I don't know how free it really was. Parents still had to pay travel expenses from what I hear. The flyer said that travel would be paid for as well.. another thing that looks like it wasn't true. They have some serious quality players on that team... I hope that the girls are able to stay together. If they stay with CPYC it's going to be interesting what Eaton pulls this season. I wish TC luck. Sounds like CPYC is putting all time and energy into softball... weren't they suppose to help at risk kids? Not too sure how an elite softball program is at risk. Hmmmmmmm

I would agree with what Eaton said that any kid with time on their hands and little direction is an at risk kid. I really think he did something that was positive in providing a funding mechanism for kids to play a sport. I'm not so sure how it differs from a PAL but he's funding kids to play softball when a lot of parks and recs are losing their funding.

Too bad adults mess things up.

I don't think what Eaton did is much different than all the other dad's out there who start teams. They tend to want their kid to get playing time. What parent doesn't want their kid to play? If he doesn't like the way the team is run, he can take his money and go elsewhere. If players don't like the way the team is run, they can take their skills and go elsewhere. There are tons of teams to play for and no one is held hostage.

If you're looking for a free lunch, you have to eat what is served.

This is a lot like keeping up with the Kardashians... Hopefully soon everyone will watch because the show is great and the coach's are first class people

To bad for the coach's and girls, a lot of talent over there. I hope they find a way to keep things going. They were a lot of fun to watch play.

8 pages of crap, thats what this is. Can we put this to rest? In the grand scheme TC hasn't done JACK to warrant this much drama. I dont care how talented 12 y.o's are they havent won anything and who cares if this guy doesnt want to fund a team that wont play his kid. Its his program and his money. I said when they offered this program up that free usually involves more B.S. I think the coaches are great, dont get me wrong, however none of them have done much to help these kids get to the next level. Call me crazy but these teams aren't playing down south (where the recruiters are) and not building any sort of reputation. Playing a sorry fall schedule at 16u in the fall. This is an important time to get on the map and get your players some exposure. Its not the end all but you need to start making a name since you arent the Breeze, Mizuno , LM, Grapes or any other big name out there. They dont seem to know the right direction to head in and sort of winging it as they go. Having olympic coaches can only take you so far. Now the 16u team is back to silverstreak. Seems like alot of time wasting going on. All I have to say is tic toc, tic toc.
At some point the parents will get tired of the wishy washy b.s and take their kid to a program that is college geared. I know , I know but these coaches have ties to colleges and all will be fine. Sure it will.
This is why the big name teams exist. In the end you need to be on a team with a name, gets good fields down south, and a team that regularly visits down south. Nobody is coming to watch RR play TC in stockton. Just ain't happenin! Ok im done ramblin'

People are interested because it's new. It's like a stock IPO. If you bought in, you want to see it succeed. If you didn't you may want it to fail to confirm your suspicions.

Let's take stock of the three teams:
12U: 23-6 including a 2-3 record in a 14U tourney. Won one tournament in Stockton. 3rd place in a 20 team pool in Roseville. 2nd place in a 15 team sac area tournament.

14u: 27-8-1. Won tournament in Sac, 3rd place in Stockton, 3rd place in Sac, 2nd place in Stockton.

16U: Played in Huntington, played in Bay Area Classic, played in RR Gold Showcase. Beat the Heat, Breeze, OBS Monarchs, tied the Lady Magic. Lost 2 games to Socal teams by 1 run. Won metros as Silverstreak last summer (beating the Breeze and the Heat). Won 16U Sac tourney after metros.

I don't know a lot about what college scouts are looking for, but I bet they're interested in watching teams that win. I'm sure that the Comets, Breeze, and Lady Magic have more experience placing players in colleges, and understand that process better than the TC organization. Klein was a Sac City player before transferring to UCLA, so I imagine she has some experiences that would be beneficial.

However, the 16u team is comprised primarily of kids who haven't played a single pitch of high school ball yet, so I wouldn't get too worried that none of them are verballed, let alone the 12 and 14 teams.

Bruised, I agree for the most part. However you need to be making regular trips down to So Cal. Not an occasional trip here and there. In the fall you should be down south no less than 3 times IMO.This is why LM, Breeze, Grapes, RR , etc are successful in recruiting. Its definately not by making a name here in Nor Cal.
My one disagreement is most of those players are 96's so they have in fact played one year at high school.
Yes colleges are interested in teams that win but it really gets down to individual work at home with letters, videos, calls, etc. The next step is getting some game time in front of a coach and they are all in So Cal. Bay Area showcase this year wasn't that big of a college recruiter draw.
