Let her rest it for two weeks. She is only ten. She can watch some softball for a couple of weeks.

I have seen that in other players (including a catcher). The catcher said it hurt on the inside of the elbow right below the bicep area (ached pretty bad). After she went to the doctor she was told she had bicep tendonitis. Doctor recommended rest--especially from throwing down to second base.

She worked on her mechanics, which had not changed since she was younger--or so she thought. She hasn't had anymore trouble since, but she did take a few months OFF from throw downs, and spent time on her mechanics.

MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE

..sometimes we think the mechanics are fine (or they make subtle changes that aren't noticed), might be worth taking her to someone to evaluate her throwing??

good luck :-)

REST REST REST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let her rest for several weeks. Then let her start back up slowly with a good work out regimen. Make sure she is throwing properly and using her legs and lower body when she throws instead of just making that quick throw with all arm.

Rest it until you see the doctor. It is probably tendinitis and the doc will get you on the right track. My son's Baseball team went through serious arm troubles this year and the coaches are really good at pitch counts, stretching, you name it, they did it. You can never be to careful when it comes to the health of their arms and legs. She is young and has a lot of softball left to play.

Please demand an xray, my DD was told tendonitis, same pain, and actually had a hairline fracture where the tendon meets the bone (epicondyle, sp) after several months of rest, she threw the ball at practice and the bone seperated which resulted in surgery. Be on the safe side this is a common injury for this age and year around play. I think it's most commonly called little league elbow. Good luck
