Best 14U Teams in NTX

Not a good day for AF as I don't think they won a game, someone might confirm? In fact I agreed with an earlier post that Glory did look solid and should be considered one of the top 14U teams in N. Tx. Pitching & D are solid. Pride & FC could also be considered right up there with Glory based on what I saw. These rest of the teams had a fair showing but again its only FEBRUARY. So alot of rust from top to bottom.

Your right on the "ELITE" part, its used a little to loosely. And so while some would consider a couple of the teams that attended really good/good the other teams that played maybe not as much. So I'm sure several area teams such as Fusion, ETX Bombers, Elite 98 or some others that were not in attendance might have a different opinion about those so-called 6 elite teams.

Feb friendly?
teams batting rosters
moving players all over the field
pitching everyone who wants to give it a try
trying to execute plays
Not sure anything can be gleaned by that except teams are scrimmaging and shaking off the winter rust. I'll check back in May. It will all shake out by then.

Good point. Let's (for fun) look at something more concrete. Here are the rankings according to the different sanctions

ASA:
American Freedom Myers
98 Rip
Adkins Allen
Firecrackers
Fusion Rhine

VTD/IFA:
Fusion Rhine
Thunderstix
Texas Pride Sattler
American Freedom Kennedy
Ennis Cyclones

USFA:
ETX Bombers
Out of Control
Sneaky Cleats 97
(only 3 teams from north/nort east Texas had points in the 14A division)

USSSA's website barley functions and I could not get any results despite them having a ranking system.

Triple Crown does rankings, but only for 16/18U

Premier does not appear to do rankings but only one 14U team from north Texas received an invite to their Nationals.

There is no travelballselect type site that I know of for softball like there is for baseball.

We are 12U and had a weekend to relax so my daughter and I caught games both days.

Give me a break, you are full of BS!!! You had the weekend off and just happen to check out a tournament that was not posted anywhere huh? You do know your posts' follow you right? You do realize that you only post about 14U and mostly about the Firecrackers right? You know they keep a list of men who just happen to spend there weekends watching adolescent girls on the weekends. LOL!!!

If you dont want to admit that you are yet another in the long line of firecracker parents that seem to always make their way to HB when their team has a good showing then dont. But dont insult our intelligence and tell us you are 12U with nothing better to do all weekend than to go watch a scrimmage of older girls. Funny I didnt see anything in any of your previous posts about 12U.

Back to my original point of the elite teams shutting other teams out. I have no problem with these teams getting toghether and playing each other and obviously I cant do anything about it even if I did. My problem comes when a fairly large group of teams who are obviously the best teams in North Texas get together and decide to circumvent the system by dropping several tournaments in favor of playing in these "friendlies" in order to not have to play the weaker teams and save some money. This friendly was not the last of these in fact there are going to be many more of them from what I understand and these teams are going to play in far less N Texas tournaments. This is bad for N TEXAS softball. If you take all of the best talent out of VTD/ASA tournaments then how are the other teams supposed to get better if they never get to play the best teams. How many fewer tournaments will make as a result of this. How much less money will the venues that host our tournaments make and will they in turn host less tournaments. What if all the other age divisions follow suit and you have the top 10 teams from each age division who start playing less tournaments. This is a slippery road that I dont think we want to go down and I were the head of an organization which obviously I am not I would not allow my teams to take part in this. It is bad for North Texas softball which should be important to all of us. I know we all have our team affiliations which is fine but we should also care about advancing our sport in our region in order to represent us at national events and get more North Texas girls into college softball which I thought was all of our goals.

But maybe not maybe all most of you care about is watching YOUR princess hit the ball on the weekends and of course watching there are some of you that enjoy watching young teenage girls who play for teams that you have no connection to just for the fun of watching, right LOTSOFMILES. Kind of creepy if you ask me LOL!!!!!

which came first. the chicken or the egg. the reason these teams are doing this is that the vtd/asa tournaments are so watered down. every team that places in a tournament thinks its time to play up. every dad that gets mad because his dd isnt the #1 pitcher and batting cleanup starts his own team, struggles to attract talent, and waters down the tourneys. how are these so called elite teams supposed to get better to "represent us at national events" if they are forced to play teams that are not even close to playing them.

i just dont get it. people on here went crazy when some team beat another 20 to nothing this fall (or whatever it was). what do you think is going to happen if these elite teams show up to vtd/asa tourneys?

how about the sanctions stepping up? come up with some regulations for teams playing up or lets go back to A/B. they wont. know why? turning away teams equals turning away money. i didnt see you on here complaining when the A/B disappeared. looks like ASA is making an attempt with their invitational next month but thats one opportunity.

i dont see why those other teams would have a problem. this gives them a chance to win a trophy and the "elite" teams can prepare for nationals. they are in two different worlds. why is a semi-separation a bad thing for softball. if anything, its probably a good thing.

You sir have officially gone off the deep end in your rant here. So if your child wakes up and says, "hey dad, the movie theater is just a few miles away. Let's go there today", or "hey dad, let's go to the zoo today it's just a few miles away"... how is that any different than "hey dad, there's going to be some games today, I want to go watch"... am I supposed to say no?

Anyway, I appreciate your post and I appreciate the laugh. If you can go back to my original post and can decipher for us where I am lauding one team over another I'd be curious to see how you can determine any preference towards any team.

Yes, please. This would get us right back to the true original post. Who are the best 14U teams in N Texas and why?

The answer is easy. The 14u teams that chooses to get better by not playing in some BS tourn and start concentrating on getting better for nationals by playing in friendlies with teams that are worth playing. CA has been doing this for years (sigh)...Jeeesh...wake up TX and take a lesson from the ones that win these nationals.

Unusually quiet here after a weekend of softball for these "elite" teams. I cannot believe that someone hasn't posted any results. Let the bragging or excuses begin. I mean development begin..
