My DD liked the heavier Ringors. And I liked the protection that they offered her toes from lined shots, etc.

She outgrew them before she wore them out.

I wear the field shoes and they protect my feet well, also.

I too agree with most of the posters about the Diamond Star Ringors............My DD started with the bulky Playmaker (it was the only shoe Ringor had at the time), then switched to the Diamond Star when it came out. Much lighter and last just as long. We found that the bottom cleats would wear before the front toe.
We instituted a shoe rotation !!! Older shoes for lessons and workouts..........newer shoes for tournament games (once they were broken in) !! This made them last longer than in the past when she just wore one pair !!!
DD's team switched to Mizuno (Jenny Finch G3 for pitchers) lighter shoe...........verdict still out on these though..........they seem to be holding up.........and DD likes them too.

These are the cleats we are thinking of looking into. DD is a lefty slapper and would like to have an even lighter cleat than the ringors. Let me know how they work for you guys.

+1 on the Mizunos.

I posted awhile back about the Watley cleats for a hot rod lefty slapper and wound up buying a pair of the now-discontinued screw-in model for $20 on clearance. DD loves them and they're lighter than anything out there as far as I can tell. Combine that with $20 and you'd be hard pressed to sell me on anything else!

Now she doesn't pitch anymore, so the wear and tear on the toe is over, but if one could combine the lite-weight aspect with Tuff Toe dipping, it may be a winning combo! Not sure about the Finch shoes - I suspect they're a little heavier than the Watleys.

They are a little heavier than the Whately's, but lighter than the Ringors. Tuff Toe never worked for my dd.

In our experience, a Mac truck is lighter than Ringors.
When the originals came out, the slowest kids on the team seemed to be the ones that got them and they got even slower!

Glad to hear the newer ones have lightened, but I'm sorry... they still have to be proportionately heavier!

For as good as they reportedly are, I don't see too many colleges using them? Is that purely because of sponsorships?

Ringors are really good durability wise but they are really heavy. If you hit and run too they can slow you down a bit.

MY DD has never worn Ringors so I can't relay any feed back on those. DD mostly wears Mizuno, Tanel.

DD doesn't drag super hard, however, she does go through two pairs of cleats every year. If you can find a good price on the Mizuno's then I would use those. Sometimes older cleat models are put on sale for as low as $20.00. Heck, at that price, I'd buy three pairs.

We liked the Tanel Victory, however its life span was about the same or slightly longer than the Mizuno's.

Perhaps we just had a bad experience with the Tanel REV-D. DD had two of the cleats (inside heel location) break off. They broke where the cleat layer would be pressed or glued on. We sent Tanel some pics of it, but did not here back from them. Not sure if others had experienced the same thing. Liked them otherwise, but for now, not planning to purchase another pair of Rev-D's. I'll buy three pairs of mizuno's instead.
