no coach ever gets your DD signed. We may have positioned your DD to be seen by coaches, invited coaches to come watch her, helped her get some publicity and even talked to coaches about her, but YOUR DD GOT HERSELF RECRUITED BY HER PERFORMANCE & SKILLS. Its not us coaches out there hitting that wicked riseball, striking out the side, turning that double play or making that game saving diving catch.
VERY eloquently put. I have always felt so thrilled to see athletes excel to a level that they did not know was possible, to accomplish great things, to have moments they will remember forever. Just to have the opportunity to be a part of these experiences has been inspirational!

A good coach doesn't expect anything...many of us are here for the girls, to train them, teach them and help them succeed. And when they do sign that's all the bonus we need, because we were there coaching them when they couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with a softball.
