Colorado in June

by 6to4to3 » Wed Mar 21, 2012 11:04 am

OK, some of you old timers and been there done that's I'm calling on your experience. DD's team is heading to CO in the 14U's this summer. What should she/we expect and look out for? DD is a P. They are playing up in the Greeley/Windsor area - what places should we go to and which ones do we stay away from.

What is everyone's overall experience with the CO tourney?

If you were starting over again with a 14U what would you do differently than before and why?

Stayed in Ft Collins. Downtown is fun and if you are a beer drinker go to the Fat Tire brewing company.

For games out in Windsor and Greeley bring your bug spray...mosquitos are bad.

Its a fun tournament in that you get to see teams from across the country. All Star games were fun and chance for your daughter to meet other kids.

Even though the all star teams were coached by college coaches I would still say that if your goal is college exposure, your not going to really get that in the 14U games.

I was told that there will be no Coors Light or Miller Light drinking in CO! Although it's where they get the water there will be no code blues in any of the parking lots. A parent on my kid's HS team said paying for the all star game was a good buy. Their experience was at 16U though? Other than that I'm looking forward to making it to the New Belgium Brewery myself.

Thanks for the info all. BTW - an empty 24 oz. Rock Star can holds 2 full beers and can be sealed with the screw cap. Just sayin'
