It looks like Ike is coming your way. Thankfully, this is only Wed., maybe Ike will dissipate. Be safe.

Getting my charcoal ready... I am hoping to complete boarding today, one of the old time rule of thumbs is if you board up early, the hurricane goes and messes with someone else.

We will have a house full - looks like most of my kids, some of my grandkids, my 88 year old mother-in-law, a grand-dog, and an ex-son in law.

Donnie

Put a slab of ribs on for us Seguinites! If it comes to be to much to b-que , call me and we'll throw on some fire further from the storm.

Javier, it looks like you are going to get more of Ike than we will. My folks evacuated ... to New Braunfels, and they and you are more in the path than we are now. I have decided its going to be venison backstrap by the way - I thawed out quite a bit so thats for tomorrow.

The scary part is that the storm is coming straight at us right now - lay a ruler on that hurricane map - and its supposed to make a sharp right turn tomorrow, some high pressure system on one side of it is pushing it one way, and a low pressure systerm on the other side is drawing it the same way - so the way it was explained to us, as long as both of those systems hang tough, we (in Corpus) are going to be fine , except that the schools will have been shut down for two days and that will have to be made up.

Gas stations started price gouging yesterday.

Sams Club (the wholesale club) told their employees to be at work Saturday or be fired. BTW, the storm is to make landfall Saturday morning.

How nice of Sam's Club. What part of "death is eminent" do they not understand? I wonder what Sam Walton would have wanted his employees to do???

My nephew and his family left League City for Dallas, Wednesday night. He works for Southwest Airlines. They told their employees to get going and let management worry about getting them back. They obviously want live people working for them.

I would sue Sam's Club, if my spouse stayed home to work (at their direction) and was killed.
