What's happening?

by txballclub » Sun Sep 14, 2008 1:36 pm

Where are the Texas folks?

What has been going on in your area?

LOTS of changes going on here in North Texas. Some second year 14U's making the jump to 16U and LOTS of team changing. I don't think I've ever seen the team changing as bad as this season. There must have been some really upset parents and players this past spring who are looking for a different atmosphere.

Also some name changing and organizational jumping.

Its been an interesting fall so far and the games are just about to really get started.

I agree, there has been a lot of activity this fall. AF now has teams at the Gold, 16U, and 14U level. Lori will love this one.

The Kruzers have gone out and recuited some of the best talent at the 12U and 10u level to go with the 95 team. Which is probably the best team in 14U, being that most of the 94 teams decided to move to 16U. If the Kruzer's do thing right they will be very strong organization for years to come.

Fusion has one team from Gold to 10U. I would expect the 14U or 12U team to be the most successful of this organization. Mendez team really played well last year, and should be very competitive next spring.

Not sure about the team changing, haven't really heard to much other than BB's Montoya picked up the catcher from Elite. She will add to that already powerful lineup.

Can't wait to get the games started. Ike prevented a good weekend of softball.

ALLLLL the Glory teams have made some major changes. Players moving between their own Glory teams and even leaving to go to Fusion. Glory now has 5-18U "Gold" teams, 1-18U team, 4-16U teams, 2-14U teams, 2- 12U teams, and 2-10U teams. How many "GOLD" teams do you need in one organization?

Fusion added some top talent to their 16U and 14U team. They also added some strong players to their younger teams and we should see them competing well this season.

I don't know much about the younger team that the Kruzers added but the 12U team is really good. I agree that the 14U team will do well at this age especially since alot of the teams have moved up to 16U but I don't think that has stopped them before.

The now 14U Kruzers and 14U Travelers seem to migrate toward the better/older teams which is probably why these two teams do so well.

Traveler organization are still the Travelers and always seem to do really well. Haven't heard much about them. They sit quiet and sneak in to play ball.

Batbusters have 22 teams and still growing; I think that added MORE. Batbusters (Montoya)picked up two of the top players from Elite which has only made them stronger. This team just doesn't give up and you have to admire their efforts and talent!

Elite - still Elite. They have added some talent to the organization but I haven't heard alot so we will just have to wait and see what happens at the ballfields. The 16U and 18U will do really well; they are loaded with talent.

As far as AF, it will be interesting to see how the two new teams will do since we haven't heard much about them.

Let's play ball!!!!!!!!!1

Don't know how much longer Monti will play the Batbusters game. The Batbuster Board met w/ him tonight to discuss 'his behavior'. Hopefully we'll move on to Elite or Glory soon!...maybe Travelers or Fusion!

The BB organization would be fools if they didn't try to keep Montoya's team in the organization. Montoya is a well respected coach and seems to always have his players best interest in mind. Montoya and McClaskey's 16U team are by far the best 2 teams in the organization.

Oh well, I am sure that he will have his choice of what organization they want to play with. Could it be possible they become the 16U Kruzers?

Texas Fusion Gold has added some of the best players in the area to their already Gold Qualifing team. This will give Slade the most talent he has ever had on one team, and you already seen what he has done with less talent.

So with all the gold teams in the Batbusters, Glory and Elite who will be the top dog in each of those clubs. Until proven otherwise, these are the clubs considered by folks in and out of Texas that represent North Texas in the talent pool. Glory having 5 gold teams, only one qualified for last 3 years...what gives? Elite and Batbusters haven't qualified in a while. Travelers have a good thing going seemingly. Fusion...one hit wonder I'm thinking.

I seriously doubt Fusion is a one hit wonder. It may take a few years to consistently make it to OKC, maybe not, but they are definitely headed in the right direction.

Glory- they haven't had but one dominant Gold team, but I look for Sheltons and Adkins teams to qualify, maybe even Beards. Everyone predicts a shake up there anyway, I just hope the talent doesn't scatter further. It will be interesting to see what these coaches do since their DD's are seniors this year.

Batbusters? Don't see it until McClaskeys team hits Gold. I agree with txfastpitch, Montoya's team is extremely talented as well. He would cut off his own foot if he let his 2 flagship teams leave.

Elite- don't see it. Maybe we'll see some combining in the coming years to restore a centralized, power team.

Does anyone else see that other area's are passing us in talent and/or truly dominant teams? I can't believe that we are the only ones that have a watering down system in 18G.

Anyway, thats what my magic 8 ball tells me today. :)

TEXAS FUSION They have to be consider the top organization that has the most talent from 12 through Gold go look at their rosters its Awsome. (Not affilated)

Krusiers If they keep it small they have a good chance of being a nice organization with lots of the areas top teams now playin under their name. (affiliated)

TEXAS ELITE Will what can you say..Basically the most over hyped organizations out there. They talk a good game but they consider the USSSA Nationals a big thing. They need to concentrate more on ASA Nationals and less on the USSSA, College Looks and so on. Well the bright side they brought in that power house (Bell's) team to make their final run. Oh I forot the 92 Threat Elite..OH BOY

Fort Worth Bat Busters Will if you don't like one team there are 22 others to chose from. Montoya and McClasky are avg teams in the area but very beatable, Montoya had a bad bad Meto tournament last year but in the Fall and early Spring watch out. Have a Dad you qualify for a Batbusters Team.

TravelersBesides the 95's not too much to talk about here their best talent left for College

Texas GloryWill they are shaping up like a another Batbusters (Waterdown). I guess if Adkins wants to be still involved its his baby. My prediction no Glory teams make it to the Gold Nationals this year, Most all the good ones are in College and done. Naudins team is a wait and see but looking at the Roster pitching seems to be weaker.

I think Texas Fusion and the American Liberty Kruizers will have the top teams this year. There is always going to be the Elites Batbusters and Glory in North Texas but they will have seen better days in their past.
