What was this ? High school, asa ? We had asa blues when DD1 hurdled the catcher, believe me, one of them or both were going to die if she hadnt. The blue said 'Safe' then called her aside, and told her if he personally ever saw her do that again, he would eject her, on safety grounds. There are no ASA rules outlawing hurdling a defensive player according to a blue that I asked, I dont remember if I asked a h/s ump about this. DD2 has one more month or less of high school - and she isnt as careless as big sister, so its not an issue anymore.

this is high school, los angeles, last April, 2011. I was told those were CIF rules. Between baseball, CIF, ASA, and NCAA, I can't keep track of the rules.
