12U Teams

by Ice-Man 96 » Wed Oct 08, 2008 7:59 am

asmackdaddy wrote::o Come on Burrito, everybody know the dodging ICE did a good job finding a crappy 14U tourney to keep it together for another week. Don't go calling them one of the best until they play the best. If you don't know who the best is, just watch what tourney the 96 Ice drop out of and you will find you answer. :ugeek:

What torney has Ice dodged? A$$mack get your facts straight before you go calling out my team. Our tourney schedule is posted on our website in advance, if you think we skipped out on Sting's tourney it was due to 5 girls still with no power and 4 of them had no water. The Ice has never come close to falling apart so the comment on keeping it together another week is crazy, but I am sure your team has fallen apart.

The Ice will be more than happy to play your team, have your coach call me and we can set it up or you can hide behind your user name and be worried about we are doing.

a$$mack.

You are kidding right. What do you know about our team you must be worried if you keep track of our schedule.Get a life and worry about your team as we have an agenda for the Ice.We are not dodging anyone and we said from the time we looked for players that we would be playing in 14u tourneys and funny how now that we have done it and the teams who said they were gonna do it when they posted for try-outs and only signed up for 12u tourneys are following our lead.Follow your own plans and be a team that leads not follows.Go ahead and try to pick who the best teams are we could care less,it's about what happens in june and july not in Oct. and Nov. and whomever you got your info that we were trying to keep it together that don't know our team either. As a matter of fact you need to take care of you own team and find out if some of the girls who have called asking about our team lately aren't from your team but we are set to go with what we have cause some are from some of the better 12u teams around. So when you mention the best 12u teams don't include us cause games were never won on blogs like these.

You guys have not been keeping up with your 12U teams in Houston. If you noticed TPS97 is NOT the same team that was in 10U. That team is long gone and the girls on new teams. Yes there is a TPS97 but...........not one girl from the old is on the new. Don't look for them to be a team to beat!

First off, I don't think any team pulls out of any particular tournament based on what teams are in it. Just as I don't believe any team bases what age level they play to follow suit of another team. We should all hope for all teams to survive and be here to compete. The more the merrier!
This is all about the players. Not the coaches/parents egos. That being said, thanks for being looked at as one of the top 12u teams. But, this is fall ball. New players are being played, girls are trying new positions & etc.It is a time for rebuilding and for the players/coaches to bond to get ready for what does matter. That being like the Bandit said, next July when you hope your team
can qualify for that big National tournament! These fall tournaments don't matter, just good practice!

Good Luck to all the teams ! and a special good luck to TPS97

From what I have seen and heard from the first month of fall season, this is how I see the top 10 teams in the Houston area for 12U:

1. Thunder- Won BBUSA tourney w/Aces, Peppers & Bandits entered...2nd in 14U tournament
2. Aces- 2nd in above mentioned BBUSA tournament...1st in Sugarland...beat Kaos 1-0 in championship
3. Kaos- First place in Tomball a couple weeks ago, second in Sugarland
4. Bandits- 3rd in BBUSA tournament, played in 14's
5. Riptide- Haven't heard how they have done early, but definitely a solid team
6. Red Hots- Beat aces and hung with Kaos in sugarland, won Tomball a couple weeks ago
7. Peppers- 5th in Sugarland, 4th at BBUSA, 2nd in 14's in Tomball
8. Ice- 2nd in 14's a couple weeks ago
9. Sting- Played in 14's mostly
10. Shock- Second place in tomball a couple of times

This is just for fun and to get a little discussion going about how the better 12's have been doing so far in the fall. Feel free to post your own top ten and reasons why you think they should be ranked that way. Some of my info may be incomplete or a little off so feel free to chime in on those too. It would be great if all of these teams (or at least 7 or 8) would get together and play in the same tournament. Again just for fun and for everyone to keep up with how everyone is doing so far (don't get teed off if your team is ranked lower than you think...just give reasons why they should be higher). I really hope all of the better 12's can get along this year, play each other a lot so everyone gets better (nothing worse than these teams beating up on weaker teams all weekend) so the Houston area can have several teams in the top 10 at nationals.

Wow Warda3! I pretty much agree with you from the games I have seen so far this fall!

Thunder has beat the Aces and the Aces have beat the Thunder. So until further games are played I give them both top honors. Also, the Aces went 5-0 in 14u last week.
1. Thunder (best hitting team I have seen) Aces (Best pitching duo W/great catcher)
2.Kaos ( best team speed, w/great catcher)
3.Bandits ( good hitters,solid team)
4.Redhots, Peppers, and Sting can and will compete with any and all of these teams.
5. I hold my thoughts on Ice, Riptide and Shock
Just my take on it. They all have great athletes and more to offer in other areas over what I mentioned. Please don't be offended because of my opinion. Good things are still to come from all these athletes.
Any predictions for the RMcD?

Youve definately been keeping up on your 12s Warda.
For the RM here are my top 3.

1)Thunder
2)Aces
3)Bombers95

Ice, Sting, Peppers could easily change this order of finish.

It looks like the top Houston area teams this fall are shaping up to be:

1. Texas Kaos '96
2. Fort Bend Thunder
3. Bandits
4. Aces

Each of these teams has superior coaching, excellent pitching and very althletic players. Some focus more on big bats, while others capitalize on speed. In any event, these should be the teams to watch through the fall and into spring 2009.
