On Deck Softball Jamboree

Curious, how many kids were from out of state? A handful? Good number? Couldn't tell?

I am willing to stick my neck out here for the Allister's OnDeck Camps & Jamborees... My DD has had the pleasure & great fortune to have been selected to participate in several OnDeck events, NorCal Jamboree included... It is ABSOLUTELY worth every red penny to have the Allister's recognition in this recruiting process! Just about every coach she has been in contact with (directly & indirectly) has brought up seeing her at the OnDeck event(s). You just can't put a price on that kind of exposure.

From UCS (I know it was the "big one" in So Cal):

Both players performed exceptionally well at the Allister's On Deck camp in July!! Congratulations!!

FWIW, both DDs went though the Allisters' camps.

In a phone conversation DD had with a Head Coach at a very competitive D1 school, his quote was "The only camps I attend and look forward to, is the Allister camps". It wasn't the first time hearing that.

The Allisters cant play the game FOR you but they sure in the heck can put you IN the game!

Great people, nobody more respected in the recruiting world, just look at the names and faces of kids just over last ten years that have gone on to BIG time schools, National teams, and the mid-majors as well.....

Both these players were at the On Deck camp in Chicago, not the So Cal camp. This was their first time away from the west and they still had over 80 coaches attend including 4-5 PAC 12 schools.

Jmo, that's a bit confusing, they play for Crown Point and Minnesota, and now Bandits, but it's their first time away from the west?

It might be the first Time On Deck was away from the west.

My daughter went to a couple Allister camps. After the first camp she got at least 20 emails within 3 days. Derek and Joanne are top notch and are a couple of the best people I have ever met. They do an incredible job helping these kids get recruited

Man some of you need to give your DD some credit and maybe yourself too. Talk about drinking of the Kool Aid. And I've seen some affiliation on this site so there SOME conflict of interest it seems. On Deck is nice but $150 x 160+ kids? A lot of coin. Great people and have talked to them several times. I love what they do but I wish they would target some middle of the road kids who are above average but may not get the exposure they need. These kids that are good, dont need anybodies help. If they are doing the work, they obviously have the skills, they will be fine. The girl going to LSU, if she visited the school and went to their camp while there, would have been same result I'm guessing. Not to mention a better informed decision. Cant tell you how many kids I've seen go back east without ever visiting the school. On Deck in my opinion is for the kid who maybe isnt on the radar yet who is on a low level showcase team not getting much exposure. Any kid on the batbusters, minors gold, Sorcerers, A's,So Cal Anything really doesnt need On Deck. I've been to several of them and I think they are great but its funny to me how many people swear that they are the must go to if you want to go to a big time school. They provide a good camp but there is so much more to the recruiting process. Many schools are starting to gear toward their own prospect camps over 2 days to make a better evaluation on a kids future potential. Thats all the recruiting process is. How much better will your DD get and will they help the team in the future. We had several friends DD's attend their camps with literally a 50/50 split. Emails from coaches are nice but they mean jack. Real interest is when you go to a camp and they pull you aside or your travel coach says you need to visit this school. Everything else is a big net that schools cast to see what sticks.
