The original post exposes a strange irony- that many people support candidates that are not in teir own self-interest.(this goes both ways)

In my own family:

My brother has six kids, has not had a full-time job in years- has been on all kinds of government programs etc...food stamps-you name it- He's a strong Republican backer

My Mother-in-Law- self-made business person whostarted and ran her own real estate business(very successful) Belongs to a very exclusive Country Club and owns several properties. She ALWAYS votes Democratic(even though I don't think she believes in one thing they support) I am sure we all have simolar examples
