Letter of intent?

What's on your mind?

by dodgerblue » Mon Nov 03, 2008 9:26 am

Is it possible for a freshman in high school to start receiving letters from colleges??
I'm kind of new to the college recruitment process but I thought that they can't make contact till after their 10th grade season but like I said I'm new to this and I'm sure that I can get my answer on here from someone. Thanks in advance.

National Letters of Intent for softball cannot be signed until the fall of your Senior year.

Athletes may initiate contact anytime, and coaches can reply to that contact. College coaches cannot initiate contact until the summer after junior year in HS

Best way to get noticed: See if the school of your choice offers a summer camp in which the coaches are the instructors and attend those camps.

A kid can receive a generic letter from a college at any time.

Sam is right. Just about everyone on my older daughter's team received letters after playing in 16U Nationals. Most of them were only 15.
