Taking the older girls to Hanks Bombers for a second/low level 14u team after fall.

I don't include the 99 teams, I feel they should be playing 14u

Like I have said before 1 good or bad weekend will not throw you to the top or bottom and at this point body of work comes into play more than Head to Head. I have added 2 new teams to my list. It looks like they both played well in Stockton on Sunday however I know nothing about them and was not there. Both teams were 1 N 2 on Saturday but had descent Sunday’s. It’s hard to say with out seeing them play if they just had a few good Sunday games or they are teams that should be in the top 10.

1.Grapettes Kahwaty: #1 Seed in Stockton this weekend. Lost to the Runner up in the Semis.

2. Rocklin Hype: 2 N 1 on Saturday. Lost on Sunday to the eventual Runner Up of the Tourney who is a pretty good 99 team playing down.

3. CA Breeze: Had a nice few weeks. Back to back Win's 1st in 14s last week and followed it up with a tourney win in Stockton. I missed the Stockton action but I would say the Breeze BATS must be back.

4. Roseville Heat: Slipped to the 4 spot after multiple losses to the Breeze. Absent from this weekend’s activities.

5. Salinas Storm: #2 Seed in their pool. Lost to the eventual tournament winner in the semis.

6. CA Rapids: # 1 Seed in Pool on Saturday, 2 N 1 on Saturday Lost to the tourney winner 1st game on Sunday

7. KG Hitters: # 2 Seed on Saturday, Put together a few good wins on Sunday and beat the 99 Thunder team in the Championship game. This team has been very hot and cold though.

8. Team CA: #1 Seed in Stockton, 3 N 0 on Saturday. Lost to USA Elite in what looks to have been a close game Sunday.

9. Foothill Gold: #1 Seed 3 N 0 on Saturday. Lost to Salinas Storm first game on Sunday.

10. North Valley Stompers: Beat Grapettes RK in the Semis lost in the Championship game on Sunday to the Breeze.

11. USA Elite Pfenning: Beat Team CA on Sunday played Breeze close on Saturday and Sunday but lost both games.

Would this be the Elk Grove Thunder Byers team? Would like to see them playing with their 99 co-horts. It's a strange fall season, but I guess it's like every fall season that's ever come before. Teams stay down. Teams move up. Teams move up two age groups.

Yep - strange dynamic with that team. EG always chasing trophies and always playing down. Glad to see they still can't win an ASA tourney playing down.

If it's a rec team and their games are competitive, then they are playing at the level they belong.

A rec team does not play tournament ball all year. A rec team does not have try outs. Rec teams (in Elk Grove at least) pick player through a draft where they are only allowed to request a few players and lock them to a roster, normally coaches kids.
This team is far from a rec team with multiple players on it who have played on A Ball teams in the area. They play 14s in NSA and USSSA then 12s in ASA when they are trophy hunting. During Spring and Summer they played 12u NSA mopping up every team around but would never step into a ASA tourney for fear they might tarnish their 54 and 1 record they bragged about at tryouts. When any team who would pose a threat stepped into the NSA Tourneys they would pull out and go play DF in search of another trophy.
If they want any respect they need to go play 14s with the rest of the 99 teams. Honestly they are a pretty good team who are getting held back by these coaches.

Great post! Yes, the coaching is bad and as for 1 of their girls - I won't go there.

Nothing this week... I think the majority of the top teams were off this last weekend. I saw Heat won 14u Bit n Bit tho. (Nice Job) Most of the teams are playing this weekend in either the Grapettes in Stockton or the Dugout Wars tourney in Roseville. Breeze and Heat I believe are traveling to So Cal for the weekend. Good luck to you guys have a safe trip, hope you guys have a great weekend representing Nor Cal.

Just a few small changes this weekend. Most of the teams are playing right where I feel they are ranked right now so not a lot of movement.

1.Grapettes Kahwaty: Played 14’s this last weekend to see better competition as the 12u Grapettes division looked more like an NSA B tournament. 2 wins over average 14u teams on Sat took a pretty big loss in pool play to Mizuno Stone. Lost game one on Sunday.

2. Rocklin Hype: Won the Dugout Wars tournament in Roseville beating CA Rapids 5–3 3rd tourney win of the season. Hope they make it in next weekends ASA Tournaments event. Looks like that will be the last of fall for most.

3. CA Breeze: This team has really come around over the fall season. 3 tourney wins in a row the latest this weekend in Palmdale. Congrats on the weekend way to represent Nor Cal. I don’t have much info on the weekend as obviously I didn’t make the trip but it looks like the better So Cal 12u teams stayed away from this tourney. My bet they saw the Breeze and Heat were coming. :P

4. Roseville Heat: Played in Palmdale this weekend made it to the semis and lost to Breeze 15 9. Long way to go to get bumped by your cross town rival’s but at least it was late in the day.

5. Salinas Storm: Did not play this last weekend. Their Last tourney #2 Seed in their pool. Lost to the eventual tournament winner in the semis.

6. CA Rapids: Played Dugout Wars this weekend .# 1 Seed in Pool on Saturday, beat KG Hitters in a come from behind win. Score doesn’t show it but the game was close until the end. Beat Team CA in Semis 2-0 in a very good game. Fell just a little short in the Championship Game.

7. Team CA: Played Dugout Wars this weekend. This team is looking better every time I see them. Lost in the semis to Rapids in a great close game with a lot opportunities for both teams. Strong defense this weekend. If they stick together and can get their lineup healthy this team can run with any of the top five. (Moved Team CA up one watching KG and them play the same team back to back I just think it’s the right move)

8. KG Hitters: I am having the most trouble trying to figure this one out. They won the last tourney beating a pretty good 99 team playing down. Did descent in pool play but got thumped by Hype, then lost a close game big at the end to the Rapids on Sunday. They have just been very hot and cold. Definitely improving though. (Slipped down for the reason I listed above)

9. Clovis Rockets: I liked this team they played pretty well this weekend. Lost a close game to Rapids on Saturday #2 in pool play lost to the eventual tourney winner in their second game Sunday. Just couldn’t get the bats going. (This was the first time I have seen this team but I felt they deserved a spot in the top 10 watching them play)

10. Foothill Gold: Won the Grapettes tourney this weekend in Stockton. Looks like they had a good weekend overall in a tourney that they were with out a doubt the better team there. Win the ones you should that’s important.

11. North Valley Stompers: Beat Grapettes RK in the Semis lost in the Championship game on Sunday to the Breeze.

12. USA Elite Pfenning: Beat Team CA on Sunday played Breeze close on Saturday and Sunday but lost both games.
