Sorry- lost power yesterday-still none today(I'm at work) Winds hit close to 90mph here in RI house was really shaking. Water(salt) reached the edge of my backyard. Whole fairways were covered by 1 ft of water(looked nice under the full moonlight) Luckily no water in house. They say their was historical damage to the coastline

Back in CT they still have no power- dw tells me three trees are down. Not sure when power will be back

Our part of VA has just seen some light winds, maybe gusts to 30 ... Very little rain so far... Cold temps in the 30's

Friends in NJ & Pennsy are FB'ing about not much rain but a lot of wind, trees down and power outages ...

Heard from mine in Jersey last night. She was good, but the eye of the storm was just starting to hit her. I haven't heard from her yet today. She was good and having a good time. PHEW!!!

DD in Maine says a lot of high wind last night ... Not much damage around her apartment ... Her sleepy headed dog just woke up and their walking to the beach to see if it's there ...

Just found out that 3 houses in Misquamicut(a section of town here in Westerly) were washed out to sea. Atlantic ave was under 16 feet of water at high tide- they are just getting their now to assess the damage

I feel very fortunate- the water came too close. I have never seen "waves" on a golf course before

DD school is closed Monday - Wednesday. Their school is the emergency evacutation site for their area, although, they are in the flood zone and the school was asked to evactuate by Sunday night.

DD#1 is in Queens, schools closed, fires weren't too close to them last night thank God - But dummy goes outside to check on the car and has to hold onto a pole to keep from falling in the wind, I think she is enjoying freaking me out. She is pretty scared though and fascinated by it all at the same time -- being a California girl not used to any sort of extreme weather.. Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by Sandy, what a mess!

I can relate to that. I was in the Bahamas when Andrew hit. I couldnt resist going outside to see what 90 mph winds were like until I saw a coconut flying through the air like a fastball.

What the heck is she doing there? DD 2 said they made it, but that the whole coast is just devestated. They have no roads to get to school, but they have a couple hundred or more people evactuated in their gym. Thank God all are safe!!!

It is amazing how big this storm is- my daughter in Boston felt the effects as did my father in Ohio. With all the devastation- it is amazing that more people were not killed or hurt. I guess people are finally listening to the warnings and preparing. Govt. and business were wise to shutdown things early and have people stay home- it's nice to know we can learn from the past

She is living there, playing a little softball, working and going to school.. She went to school in Texas to get engaged to a very nice young man from New York, lol... Now, she is in Queens..
