What's on your mind?

The unwritten rule is very simple.

If you have a team BBQ at the field, you are an A-Hole.

No gray area.
"I'm the walkin dude, I can see all the world!
Twist your minds with fear, Im the man with the power.
Among the living, follow me or die!"

Question, the way you guys do friendlies out there is - you invite who you want, there is no 'tournament fee' per se, you obviously pay umps at the plate (or however its done in yaya land), and what you are calling the fund raising is from the concession stands ? Do I have it right?

Though if you have to rent fields, you would have to have some sort of tournament fee, right? I know you are all rich out there, so it probably doesnt matter.

Yes DonnieS, you are correct. You post that you're hosting a friendly and once you fill however many teams your fields can hold in one day you're set. Umpire fees are anywhere from $35 - $45 and I've even some at $50 that all includes whatever percentage the host team is taking from that fee....

The fundraiser part is your snack bar. That is where you make your money....Usually (Not always) but the fields are a given....Usually the host team will host the friendly at their "HOME" field. Issues arise when you share with another team or an entire league like I do here in Corona, Ca (So Cal).....The only issue we have here in So Cal is that it gets difficult trying to fit all the snack bar food in our bmw's and mercedes.....We usually just end up renting a Hummer limo!

Hummer limo is so yesterday. We are all going green in the liberal state. Hybrids and Smart cars. The fundraisers are usually a net loss, so we just right it off as a business expense.

There is way too much dropping out of friendlies at the last minute in the mid-west...it makes it difficult to even host one.! Everyone should try and patronize the host's concesion stand....as long as they keep their prices in check..! ( I paid $4.50 for a frozen soy-burger this fall at one friendly....!)
