Ditto - Was unable to do that today, though - but I called her to tell her I loved her. Can't wait for her to get home next week.
I had, as I am sure most people, a rough day today

They have yet to say this guy had mental illness, they have barely identified him, people are assuming he was mental by his actions. This act was planned, premeditated and evil.

Well that's a mental illness, diagnosed or not. No one in their right mind would do what he did.

I would be interested in a study of the shooters that detailed what medications they were on, if any.
Ladies, if a man tells you he will fix it, he will fix it. There is no reason to remind him about it every six months.

Events like this cry out for explanation/understanding. Though it is inconvenient/unsatisfying, I think that sometimes the most informed conclusion is "I don't know". It will be interesting if the brother goes public with details about his family life. No mentally healthy person does something like this.

My niece graduates this semester in education, starts her teacher "training" ( whatever that is ) at a local elementary school after the new year. Over the Thanksgiving holiday her fiancé was wanting to get a gun for their home, she was dead set against it. Today she called me wanting to learn how to shoot and if I would help her pick out a good carry gun and she is signing up next week to get her carry license.

The problem is the law. Schools are NO ARMED ZONES, and that's why they are so easily targeted. I believe all teachers should be required to take self defense classes, I also believe if they pass a rigorous background and mental evaluation they should/can carry arms. All teachers don't need to be armed, just the "idea" of a few per school will make a wack job think twice.

Squirrel said a mouthful. All I know is that this morning I woke up with my two wonderful daughters alive and healthy. I don't deserve this anymore than those poor parents deserved to have their children taken from them. I cant imagine the emotions this triggers for Donnie or those who have lost children.

I know that the time I have spent with my kids is priceless. I am grateful that my oldest daughter decided she didnt like soccer and wanted to play softball on Saturdays with the new friend she had just made in the new neighborhood we just moved into. That put us on a journey TOGETHER that has covered thousands of miles, too many hours to count, and even more money.

There is so much in this world that I cant control, but what I can do is invest myself wholeheartedly in my kids. The reason I am addicted to HB is because of the countless others on here who do the same. Regardless of shared beliefs and debated differences, we all strive to make the world better through our kids.

Maybe he should have got his stupid ass to church. What a coward

Wouldn't it be nice if that could fix mental illness or depraved behavior ... All those Catholic Priests tell us that Church or belief in God isn't the only answer ...

And I agree ... F*ckin' coward ... If you don't like your life, fine, take your own life, not innocent others ... Children are the purest form of goodness ... B*stard ...

I think the Ten Commandments are a good guideline for society, the world would be a better place if people just tried to follow them, don't you think? ACLU, Liberals and Progressives hate looking at them. Why? Being in softball, #4 is not alway followed, but we try.

The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:2-17 NKJV)

1 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.

2 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My Commandments.

3 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

4 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

5 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

6 “You shall not murder.

7 “You shall not commit adultery.

8 “You shall not steal.

9 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10 “You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.”

I agree ... Some pretty good stuff in there ... But, our Fore Fathers penned in the separation of Church and State .... 1 through 5 seem to be the problem in their mention of 'God' ......

Try to avoid the hate - we have had to focus on avoiding the hate or the desire for revenge. We are focusing on our son's recovery and using common sense to avoid what can be avoided. The crime against my son is a hate crime - but wont be prosecuted that way because he is white. Of the very close group of friends he was with that night, he was the only white kid. A pack of these thugs are roaming our down town area looking for white boys/men alone and attacking them. That being said, the majority of our friends are hispanic, as I have said before so is my granddaughter and two of my nieces.

So in a very sick way, there was a reason for my son being attacked - wrong color - in the club area of town. These innocent children and the people who teach them - did nothing - no reason - no anything - just one more pathetic excuse for a human doing something so the media can make him famous. And they have.
