It's funny how everyone thinks the ASA in this region is "all that". I have looked at ASA results (particularly in the 10's and 12's) from the past years, and I see a lot of true "B" teams playing in them. For instance, Team Indiana, Monticello Eclipse, etc. Nothing against these teams. If you're a B team, then you're a B team. But let's not make out the ASA in this region to be something similar to ASA on the west coast. IMO, it's not. It's just another tournament for anyone to enter...again, I am mostly referring to the younger age groups and summer season, not including nationals. I mean, come on; Sport Zone indoor tournaments are ASA for crying out loud!
If you really want to challenge your team at this age group, then go down to Atlanta and play some friendlies like the Bulldogs00 team is next week. Or, better yet, play in a 40 team tournament in Atlanta in early April like the 2000 Indy Crush team is doing. And then come back up here and play in 3, 4, or 5 14u tournaments (implied playing up from 12u). Or go play in the ASA Sparks Invite in Elgin, IL...or play in the ASA Stingray Invite in Columbus, OH...or sign up for a PGF tournament and hope like hell that some good teams from the SW or NE show up.
Remember, Winning is only good when it's earned!
