She was 250 Strikeouts in 181 innings last summer. She faced the batbusters one time in a showcase and the coach was only allowing each pitcher 2 innings a game then and she drew 3rd and 4th inninggs just happened to be 1-3 in line up all stirkouts the 4-6 the next inning 1 strikeout then two pop ups about 10 feet infront of first base. This was all 16u though. I do all of our games on game changer so if you are interested in watching live stats you can, but I am not totally sure how that works I know my wife watches when she can not makethe games.

:? The only game on GameChanger against a Batbusters team was Nov 4 in the AFC Showcase - https://www.gamechanger.io/game-5095fc2 ... 41b4000008. That was against the San Diego Batbusters team and it shows 16 pitches, 2 strikeouts and 4 flyouts. Please explain.

You really need to be more careful that you don't paint a big target on your DD or people will be gunning for her when she's down here for Zoom into June and Champions Cup this Summer.

I, for one, am extremely excited to hear the reply to PDad's query.

Pdad..
I have a straight up questions to you n others I call gurus on HB. (non confrontational just a question).

What is this illusive RED Dot you speak of and why is it bad?

Why do so many circle the wagons around a proud father’s post or sometimes picture of DD? Or is being proud look upon as boasting?

RED DOT or not, Good or Bad, cant a parent get a pat on the back from those, on a respectable forum, that the family has made it through HS and/or college in such a unstable world?

Finally, can’t we all agree stats are subjective to the theory “garbage in garbage out”? That is, depending on who is entering vs. who is reading info –results will vary.

I assure you im just asking because I have been accused of this Red Dot deed. And I have read many supporting facts on injury awareness, softball rules, hands part of bat, etc but I have not read why stating or over emphasizing a little girl’s (because that is all the will ever be in a dad’s eye) skills is so detrimental.

Let the flood gates open..

Don't you mean the parents who read Heybucket who might possibly do the research to find out which travel ball team OP's DD plays for this summer? Not likely. Congrats on your DD's success, Scuba. Don't let the joykillers get you down

I will try to reply to Diesel and FP4Life. You both probably won't like my reasoning, but that's OK. For educational purposes only.

I will write this in first-person singular, though I suspect others may be of like mind.
I have no problems with parents supporting/bragging/noting/mentioning/cheerleading for their kids. However, you need to understand that MANY of the regular HB posters have years of fastpitch experience. With this experience comes a sophisticated understanding of the sport, its history, its future, its heroes, and its knuckleheads.
Many of the regulars have daughters who are flat-out studs. These kids have played and/or are playing at the highest levels of this sport. To my recollection, in the years I have been following HB, NONE of them have ever started a thread like this one. Does that tell you anything?
I understand that Scuba is a good guy who is excited about his DD's successes. That is good for her, and good for the sport we all love. However, I am thankful that every parent of every kid who has a good day doesn't start their own HB thread to toot their own horn. That would be problematic.
So. When Scuba's excitement results in a 5 page thread, I find it excessive. Some don't. I do. Yes, I realize I don't have to read it.
To finally land this plane. When Scuba gets a little too carried away, and on HB details his DD's alleged exploits against "The Batbusters", that is going to get fact-checked. Not because the fact-checker is a jerk, but because we all take this sport seriously, and we all have many myriad connections to other teams.
One other random tidbit. As is true on most message boards, there is periodically a new poster on HB who sets up a new account, then logs in, and immediately begins to Hold Court, and in the process, rudes out a lot of longtime members. They traditionally have quite an auspicious first few weeks on HB. Their lack of self-awareness is awesome.
Also, Diesel I personally find your repeated references to "pretentious parents" disingenuous. A little education would go a long way my friend.

My post didn't need to be addressed by anyone, but thanks for the HB parental etiquette lesson. Let's let Scuba Guy land the plane, I'm sure he can address the "batbusters" issue. The OP addressed her current high school run, so I'm cutting Scuba a little slack as a beaming Dad. If he had posted that his DD threw 16 strikeouts in a 12U friendly this is a different story.

The last time I checked, its the kids that play the game, and they don't read our drivel, so I'm not sure how Dad's comments put a target on her back.

That is the best explanation I have ever had. NO BS... NO Kidding... Thanks for taking the time.

Note to self: the Bull’s eye is not on player but the opinionated, idiot, uneducated parent. Regardless, of how some or by now all do not like my posts, I really respect all of your views. Sometimes, you have to evaluate what fits and doesn’t fit. I will try not to be so sarcastic in future.

Other questions:
Is there an age limit to when you should stop posting about daughter? Or just never start?

What if daughter is not a Stud, it does not apply to this post with so many strikeouts, can you post then?

Thanks to you n G-man, I now have two friends… Easter bunny came early…

You are correct PDad in that it was 2 K's and 4 Pop ups. I miss remembered the facts but I have them on video and in game change and that is how I checked them up again and you were correct. That is why I take so much video. It was a proud day for me should stood in front of 2 college coaches (that i saw) that day and threw lights out when it counted. I have currently around 200 games with different teams my daughter has played on over the years up on youtube ( http://www.youtube.com/user/softballgames ) open for anyone to watch. I will post all the High School games once the season is over. That is for her to show her kids one day and to show how far she has come. As far as the batbusters that is what it said on their chest and on the schedule of games I got. That was the only game in that entire where I saw college scouts for that whole weekend. Until I read this post I didn’t even know there were multiple batbusters in So Cal and still not even sure if there is a difference. I was really hesitant about this original post ( now wishing I hadn't posted) but I thought with so many like minded people (Softball Junkies) they would enjoy the success of one young lady who works very hard to do her best. I have been a member on HB since 2011 and lurking for about a year before that. I don’t hide anything from anyone if you want to know anything about me you are welcome to Google me (Doug Stockton) and you can see all the time and effort I go to help people out with softball and basketball. If you have any questions on the scoring for game changer I will tell you that I am rougher on my DD stats than anyone else could ever be, I think honesty helps her more than coddling. The only reason I continued this post was to answer questions and say thanks because I find it rude when someone ask a question and you don’t respond. So be assured I will not respond here anymore if someone ask a question I will do it in PM to avoid offending anyone on the Bucket.
