Tyler D,
You may be correct, I have run the course, done the laps, and have truely tied to find the greater good in O.
I have come up vomiting ever time. So YOU are correct. I blame my dad, (god rest his soul) for giving me the freedom to choose right from wrong, while he stayed his course of being a great father, military Col., and aero space engineer on the shuttle. I do not apoligise for my believes they have been implanted in my mind set, and soul. I am a social libertarian and fiscal conservitive. I DO not like the way the media is afraid to call something what it is, or a President that leads from behind. If it is your job, then DO IT WELL! Whether it is cleaning a toilet or running a railroad, or leading this nation.
So,,,,,I will call this pitch, wait and watch where the buck stops.
I see further, because I stand on the shoulders of giants

Is there NOTHING that can't become another inane diatribe about your politics?

Hate to burst the bubble world you live in Tyler, but ahare is right. O has the media in his pocket and his followers CHOOSE to be blind.

And Kristof criticizing the senate republicans is different than you criticizing Obama how???

Why don't you blame those SOB's who planned and orchestrated the attack. If someone is determined, there isn't a whole helluva lot you can do to prevent it while still having a free society.

Thanks TD-certainly worth saying. Times like this should unite us- we are all Americans.

Things like this strike home- I know and have been in that exact location many times. My daughter goes to school up there(thank God nowhere near there) One of my employees was at that exact spot the day before and my company has several offices in that area. For those that are not familar- Patriots day is HUGE in Boston. It celebrates the Battle of Lexington and Concord(Shot heard around the world) in 1775. There are Paul Revere ride re-enactments, an 10:00am Red Sox games and the Boston marathon which starts 26 miles outside the city. Patriots Day is a statewide holiday in Massachusetts.

Who did this? Who knows at this point- this date had so many symbolic connections( Patriots Day, Tax Day, 7 anniversary of Jackie Robinson's debut) as well as anniversary of Lincoln,s shooting-- it could be from anywhere on the terrorism spectrum

It is a shame we have to deal with something like this yet again.

Seems strange that no group has claimed responsibility ... That makes me think it may have just been some sicko acting alone or a small group of nut jobs ...

The images of the victims are horrible. Why are they so readily available online, they usually censor this stuff in respect for the victims.

This administration has been avoiding using the term terrorism and possibly implicating Muslims yet not so much with Americans. Axelrod was on MSNBC saying "it was tax day" which is code in the media for those anti-tax right-wing Republicans. But hey, we don't want to speculate.

My point was simply that IMHO there is an occasional atrocity that transcends politics. If you think that Obama failed because some asshole(s) detonated a couple of backpack bombs, you give him too much omniscience. Nobody and no legislation will stop a backpack bomb.

off topic, but any chance you could super impose Obamas face over the one on your avatar?

   OTB thanks for that one. I laughed out loud. Gonna copy/paste to the Heybucket classics thread. In fact, I'm surprised some of our tech savvy GOP stalwarts haven't 'fixed' my avatar already.

"Nobody and no legislation will stop a backpack bomb."

So making bombs is illegal...terrorism is illegal...but...it still happened?
So our Dear Leader thinks taking guns from law abiding citizens, turning the Bill of Rights and the US Constitution into an etch a sketch project at his whim...
And that will stop criminals using guns to murder innocent now UNPROTECTED people?...hmmmmmm

Im not a fan of Obama, but I think we need to cut him slack initially. If we go back to OKC, we did hear the word terrorsim thrown out initially. To find out that it was Americans killing Americans was sickening.

My initial thought was "its April 15th, I hope this wasnt another US nutjob", not that it really makes a difference who the SOB(s) are.

I will leave you all with this tale of the American spirit
