1. Gators 02
2. Mafia Red
3. Zephyrs
4. Terror
5. Red Alert and Blaze

Congrats to the Gators and Mafia

I think the 02 Gators are a step ahead of everyone else at this point, that really hasn't changed much. We bested them in the winners bracket final by one run in extra innings and they beat us pretty good (9-2) in the Championship game. Until someone can consistently play with them, there is no argument in my mind about who is the best. Their consistency sets them apart from the field and I don't see them sliding backwards so someone is going to have to catch up to them in the next 3 months.

Teams that impressed this weekend:
Mafia Red - ran thru the winners bracket undefeated, strong bats (scored 9 against Gators in one run victory), strong pitching staff and have improved in the field
Zephyrs - strong pitching, catching and some big bats
Blaze - big bats, strong pitching, they are much better than they played on Sunday
Terror - didn't really get a chance to see them play but I heard good things about their bats and one pitcher
Red Alert - good bats, athletic and will surprise some teams this year

I'd be curious to know how the terror/zephyrs game went. I know zephyrs won it but some details would be welcomed. We played the zephyrs twice so I've got firsthand experience with their team. Terror looked pretty competitive from the little I was paying attention. Good pitcher and some good bats. Lefty s looked fast.

Any one catch any good individual performances that stood out to them? I'd be curious what John and Mary Fan saw or stood out to them.

What happened to hoosier crush vs terror?

What'd everyone think about the officiating this weekend? As a coach I'd rather stay out of the conversation but what were people's general thoughts?

Actually, Zephyr/Terror Score was 6-1. Zephyrs pitched our lefty. On the 3rd batter of the game, our pitcher took a hard line drive straight to the chest, but pitched the rest of the game, allowing no runs (the 1 run scored by the Terror was a run on error.) Terror pitcher was also very good, but the Zephyrs consistently put down base hits to win the game. Gator Coach – you have yet to see us play consistently. Both games, we put up a good 1st two innings against you, but we always seem to fall apart after that. One day maybe … ;) You play a tough game.

Terror, we are very much looking forward to playing you this weekend. I was hoping we would be in the same pool. It is going to be a fun game at THMSA.

Gator Coach - Congrats again. The winter work your team put in really paid off. Your team looked very good from what little I was able to watch. Right now we are all chasing you.

Mafia - I just flat out love playing you guys. Great game, way to put the ball in play and keep the pressure on our defense.

Officiating - I do not have any complaints. There will always be a call or two that don't go your way. As a whole the umpires were the one things I ask for, consistent.

My only complaints for the HSE tourney was the 10U teams driving all over to get from game to back-to-back game. The director acknowledged this being an issue in an email to everyone so I trust this will be fixed before the next HSE tournament. The other issue would be the lack of decent restrooms/concessions at the FCI and Freshman fields. I will give a huge kudo to the grounds crew who were constantly dragging and lining fields. Other than having a 40' rubber in the first 10U pool E game, field conditions were SUPERB.

Great softball, Great weekend! I look forward to seeing everyone at the 1st Leg of the Grandslam in the beginning of March.

Zephyr team is very good. The Terror pither was on her 5th game that day and Terror had 2 kids thrown out at home in the same inning by some nice defense by the zephyr team. The zephyr catcher is very good....

Terror - I thought the gas tank was probably getting empty for your team with as much as your team was playing on Sunday but again I liked what I saw - good team! How was that HSE Johnson team? What happened in game on Saturday?

I really hated having all of our age bracket games spread out all over the place - makes it difficult to catch some games in between ours.

Zephyrs fan - def have a nice team and Rick has come done a nice job. His daughter (lefty) has really blossomed into a good pitcher and glad to hear that the shot she took didn't affect her pitching and that she toughed it out! Love and respect that kind of toughness!!! and Terror fan is correct your catcher is very good.

Blaze coach - looking forward to playing you guys again. Your team had some nice hits and good bats in the games i was watching. Was hoping to play your team, Red Alert and Terror this weekend but unfortunately never met up. Hopefully soon. We're in Brownsburg in 2 weeks then in Shelbyville in middle of May and then back at HSE at beginning of June. As for officiating I always tell my team, if you put your fate in the hands of the officials don't be surprised if it doesn't go your way. Never give them the control take care of it yourself.
