Well here goes, my first post ever. I have sat idly by and read all of these posts for months now and have always resisted the urge to respond. Not to offend anybody, but this is nothing more than LCD (Lowest Common Denominator), Fox Television Reality TV at its best. How some of you find the time to work and spend all the time you do on this site posting and "researching" the best teams in the area/state is remarkable. Smackdaddy, you are the wind beneath my wings and the inspiration for this post. You must be plain stupid! First, several posts back you criticized "asmackqueen" for being unoriginal. Tell me, what is the story behind your avatar? I could swear I have seen that same avatar being utilized in the past by someone on the CA boards. Perhaps you are trying to fly "under the radar?"
Next, since you are the anointed "bracketologist" of TX could you please list which 15 teams went to 12U Nationals last year? Also, could you please list the 8 teams that were from "South Texas?" In regards to the 2 96 teams being tough, who made those comments? Truth be told neither one of those are what I would characterize as strong.
Are you really being serious about all of this or are you just trying to pump teams like the Peppers. Are we really supposed to take you seriously when you refer to the Bomber Classic as a "big North Texas tournament?" Refresh my memory for me, where is that tournament played? That's right....in NEW BRAUNFELS. Which is 30 miles north of San Antonio and 50 miles south of Austin. THIS IS NORTH TEXAS???? The fact is New Braunfels is really no farther north than Houston.
Bottom line: North Texas is generally considered the Dallas/Ft Worth area when speaking of softball.
Moving on, Comets16, I have seen your posts as well. I do find it somewhat peculiar that you seem to spend a lot of time worrying about this Mesquite Diamonds team and other teams from CA. First, I dont know who this Mesquite Diamonds team is and if they are that good, I would think more people in this topic would have as well. Second, if you are that good and prepared, then personally I would not spend so much of my time researching all of these other out of state teams. Just show up and play ball. Because I am not familiar with your team as well, I did follow your link to your team. You do appear to be a VERY good team. Also, it appears that you are going through some trying times health-wise. I wish you good health and a speedy recovery. Frankly, your team should be very successful based on what I saw on your website.
Finally, I close with this offer. Smackdaddy, bring your Peppers team, and the other top teams from the "South" (i.e. Houston) to an A tournament in "North Texas" and lets see how accuracy of these rankings.
Happy Holidays,
Paul
