Difference in FP & SP Fielders Gloves ?

What's on your mind?

Last glove my dd had only lasted about 2 seasons. She didn't take care of it very well. The glove she has now, she is taking much better care of. It hasn't been a year yet though, so we will see.

I have a glove that I used in HS, rec., one year of travel, and slowpitch. I lent it to a girl in rec when DH was coaching in 10u. She is now a junior in HS and I just saw that she is still using it. WOW!!!

It truly depends on how you take care of them after you have chosen the best glove.

DH buys outrageously expensive gloves- 1 Rawlings (special order) and 1 I've never heard of. Price tag is about $550 for both, but he takes extremely good care of them. They get cleaned, oiled, and if needed, re-laced twice a year. And there is always a glove in the pocket.

In the 15 years we've been married, he has only replaced each of these once because the other ones were from high school and college.

That isn't saying we haven't bought more gloves, those are just the tried and true ones. Now he's stuck with them since he quit tournament ball.

Well ... I think my DD's gloves would last longer if you can get past the stench ... the good news no one has ever tried to steal one of them ... after 1.5 years if they usually smell so bad ya gotta get a new one ... I still have mine from back in the day ... smells like victory ... and Beer ... but recently I was accused of stealing it from Honus Wagner ...

Still no word from Wilson on what the difference is ... maybe it's like the difference between the 2 DeMarini SP Bats I bought a few years back ... one was supposed to be 27 oz and one was supposed to be 29 oz ... they were both 28 oz and they said that was within acceptable tolerances ... LOL

They didn't care about the weight difference back then because all their bats were being shaved anyway. :o

I thought I was "Bulking Up" for football season ...

But, here is what I've learned ... since I have not heard from Wilson I am assuming that if my DD is a man with small hands she should wear a FP glove ,,, but if DD is a gal with big hands he should wear a SP glove ... but to take it one step further ... why is the identical model FP glove more expensive than the SP glove, while the identical model SP bat is more expensive than the FP bat ... is it because the marketing peeps know that for our DD's we will spend more on defense while all the while we are more offensive ? ...

Another idiotic, uninformed statement from artomatic.

BTW, what is an "artomatic"? Some sort of instant picture framer from Ronco?
