Need some help with try outs....PLEASE

What's on your mind?

by clayface74 » Mon Jan 05, 2009 9:43 pm

Newbie to the site!! Very nice!! I am helping reorganize a would be travel program. The previous coaches hand picked the teams and now the intentions are to hold tryouts. I have been to a few tryouts with my daughter and I know there are skills and drillls checklists out there. Can any one here help me out with where to find a checklist or if someone has something together may I use it...I am just helping with the paperwork and administrator duties so I am not an evaluator.

Maybe some of you were confused...I did not need a checklist for typical rec ball parents, but at least I got a good start on one..Is there anyone here who has experience with travel fastpitch organization...? Thanks in advance

They are pulling your leg, Clayface, and that is a good thing. :D

What age group are you forming? It is different if they are 8 YOs or 16.

But you need to find 3 pitchers, or if they are little you need to find girls that are willing to take lessons. You need to find 2 catchers and hopefully those will be the girls that drag in their bags full of equipment.

Then, you need to make sure that those 5 girls can and will play different positions.

But, again I don't know what age group you are.

I will search my files for a check list. Amy

Here is one I use. I almost run it like a practice, I want to see who is coachable. In a PDF format.
