What's on your mind?

by lv2earat8 » Mon Jan 12, 2009 3:59 pm

The softball world and the local community lost a legend last night, Laura Norwood who had been battling cancer passed away last night peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Laura spent many years dedicating her life to softball, and was recognized by being inducted into the softball hall of fame recently. Funeral services will be announced shortly. If you would like to pay your respects that would be much appreciated to,

Such a terrible loss for our communtiy. She was a great coach and role model for many girls and will truely be missed by many.

Best wishes to her family.

Laura had the knack of being able to attract the best of the best from Nor-Cal to her team's over the years. She has over the years took young girls and gave them a head start on becoming future D-1 softball players. She saved her best for last in 2008, while winning many tourneys, she took a team to OKC HOF tourney and finished 2nd, her best ever finish, and although too ill to attend the 2008 ASA Nationals her 12U Grapette team finished 3rd, her best finish ever. She will sorely be missed but always remembered as one of the pioneers of softball in Nor-Cal TB.

My condolences to the family. A great lady in a fine organization who did a lot for our little area here.

She will be missed.

Looks like Bart has put together a tribute to her and a place where one can leave comments.
