Shoot, You mean I'm not in the "sit in the stands and pontificate" club?

Otay Panky ... going by the previous posts ... it appears that many are in agreement that a "Rise" ball does not jump ... Wade and possibly others are referring to that as a "Bug Bunny" or "Effus" pitch ... and many are stating that a Pitcher can not put enough rotation or spin on a softball to enable it to defy gravity and "Jump" upwards ... so, am I to understand, with it's lack of spin or rotation, that the belief is that a "knuckle Ball" does not jump upwards but only side to side and downwards? ... or does that pitch not exist ? :o

Wade, 2 questions...

One, do you even read the posts before you shovel out your statements? I'm saying that your bugs bunny pitch (or whatever you called it) doesn't exist, which is the same thing you are saying, if I am filtering through your BS correctly, even though some people seem to think that it does. Yes, they may curve down less than other pitches, that I agree with...but they don't actually curve upwards. Some people swear that they do, and a good one may even appear that way, but it just doesn't happen.

Two, are all umpires in the Mecca of fastpitch as arrogant as you? Seriously, I usually sympathize with umpires in most cases for the crap they put up with, but if your attitude towards players and coaches in your games is anything at all like what you have portrayed on this message board since you started posting, I feel sorry for teams that draw you in tournaments. That's just the opinion of a poor old dum hillbilly, take it for what it's worth.

Nah. I rarely have problems on the field. Most like me very much. But you probably dont read situations any better than you analyze pitches or people ;) and its a very good thing you gave up umpiring with that poor attitude you have. People dont like debbie downer mopers

Also, why is it your side must attack the poster so often and not the argument? There is only of us who actually has posted pics and profiles of a rise ball rising due to movement. Me.

Stick to the debate, no need to resort to personal attacks.

Eddie Jr. played in that game against us and hit a HR for their only run. Our pitcher was a gentleman named Harry, who is an assistant coach with Pat Kelly and the Norco Fillys Gold team.

Post some pics. That would make a great pictorial in the Heybucket section! I know if I were on a squad playing The King and his Court, I would have a lot of pics.

Don't have any...12 years ago...didn't have a digital camera...and I was a rec ball board member coaching an 8U team. I arranged for the KAHC fundraiser to benefit the rec league...so I put together the team to play them....I'll never forget lining the HS football field to look like a SB field....I was measuring the distance for the pitchers plate when Hoppe came up to me and said...."don't bother"...

Great job Wade - you nailed it.
