She's had more trouble with the rise ball than anything else she's learned, which I guess is fairly common.
Her drop ball, on the other hand, is starting to really scare her poor old 40 year old catcher

Hows her fielding and hitting?

Well, there's always room for improvement, but she plays a pretty good shortstop, has a better than average arm for her age with a quick release. She's a decent catcher too (I think she likes catching more than anything else), just needs to work on her blocking techniques a little more.
Her hitting is pretty good, she batted 3rd for her team last year, doesn't strike out very often (hardly ever looking) and has decent power. She's going to her first "professional" hitting lesson in a couple weeks, so we'll see how that turns out.
And yes, I know you were saying she better be able to field and hit if she can't pitch a rise ball, but I figured I would answer anyway

Her instructor didn't start her on the rise ball until a month or 2 ago. Honestly, I think she may have the physical ability to be a decent pitcher, but I'm not sure she is there mentally, and if the mental aspect doesn't click soon, I'm gonna suggest we concentrate more on catching and fielding. Maybe we should have arrived at that point before now, who knows?
