Quick ASA/ACE question

I am pretty sure I read this right. Our team can register and play ASA w/o any coach being ACE certified as long as its not championship play like a qualifier?

Our team is NOT chasing an ASA Nationals berth We are going to USFA World Series in Florida

Seriously, our team is a decent team in the area, but has no chance at Nationals and its not the teams goal. I dont know if ASA did it everywhere or just in our area, but qualifiers are double elim, no pool. And the few non qualifiers I looked into had the same format. So we could be paying $150 per game to play.

Point is I dont know how much ASA we will be playing. Head Coach is busy, and may not want to be bothered with the ACE program



I did get my answer from the local ASA commissioner though. No ACE required in non qualifiers

As ridiculous as it sounds, and I agree, it is high for two games, it isn't that uncommon at other levels. However, it is also an incentive to win. Like it or not, and I understand why some do not, it is also a deterent of unqualified teams just taking up space and wasting resources that could be better dedicated to teams that are qualified and looking for a good tournament.
