Oh yeah, she is a good hitter, but not a power hitter. So we need speed to get her to 1st, then the coach usually puts in a courtesy runner, so she doesn't get the chance to get hurt on a slide.
FYI we had the same issues with cleats and going through the toe. My DD's all star team last season got Mizuno Watleys super lite. She pitched the whole season and didn't have a scratch on the toe. She has had another pair since August and still no wearing at the toe. JMO
