#1 Bowie over #2 Waco Midway, 3-0

Is this Bowie's year? Bowie knocked off currently ranked #2 in 4A, Waco Midway, 3-0. A dominating pitching performance by their ace. 14 K's in 5 2/3 innings work, allowing only one hit. Yes it's early......but the statement was made....in Midway's backyard.

Is this Bowie's year..........No, they have never been able to hit when needed and a dominate pitcher can only take you so far. They will be there again, but they will not win.

Bowie does not compare to Midway as a program. They have been very good over a long period of time. Will Bowie be good next year when their pitcher is gone? Will Bowie still be good in 4 years? Midway will.........

Georgetown played Waco Midway last night, tied 2-2 until the last inning. Midway won 3-2. Not a bad start or G'Town.

Don't rule out Saginaw...Saginaw played Midway last week, was tied until last inning..Midway got a few in last inning to win. Saginaw played Georgetown and won 13-1. Saginaw plays Midway again tomorrow morning.

Saginaw has at least 5 girls who can take it yard at any given time, and #1 pitcher Crain had over 280 K's last year...lost to Aledo in playoffs.

Saginaw didn't see the varsity pitcher from G'town, she was old hurt,, Saginaw deserves credit though. Belton beat Midway on Friday night.

I think if you look at the past state champions they all had at least one dominate pitcher. Take away that pitcher and quite a few become...well, how I can say...average!
