Sorry.....couldn't resist. Consider it a "thread bump".....no charge. :D

Well it should be all black.

After that, the only thing I KNOW about masks and pretty much all decent equipment - its all personal taste.

What I'm asking ...is if you are doing 5 games on a Saturday ... is the Dri-Gear better or the leather ... and the endurance and stinky-ness of both?

Edit: I realize that I am seldom serious about anything so skewer me as you see fit ... LMAOWIOAB !

I wear leather in the 117 Stockton swelter. Never tried that other fancy dancy stuff. Someone else may know.

As to stinkyness - You gotta keep your gear clean. I wipe my mask done all the time. I keep it nice and shiny black clean, I dont like a dirty mask so I dont ever have a problem with the "stinkyness". A few times a season I take it completely apart and clean it all the way. Your other gear - you have to clean it fairly regularly. Maintain your stuff. You'll run into umpires who havent cleaned their gear since 1978. It is nasty.

Five games on Sat means 2 or 3 games behind the plate.. I doubt you'd have a problem. It's over time - so maintain.

 A spritz of Fabrize will go a long way. Fabrize now makes an Antimicrobial version.

I'll second umpinva. Fabreeze is a must have in an umpire equipment bag!

If I was the umpire and she was sure it wasn't my Fabrized mask, it could have been my MacMealBreeze escaping. ;)
