Teams not supporting Friendly Snack Bar

My guess is the lunch truck may have more cash in it than the BofA itself. Pretty sad when you can buy 1 stock of BofA for less than the greasy burrito.

We don't do 'Friendlies' on the East Coast ... or if they do, we have never heard of it or participated in one ... but looking at this from the outside and being a vegetarian and compulsive label reader ... there is usually not much available at any snack bar that I could or would eat ... not saying I would light up the grill and rotiserie a Tofurkey either ... But does anyone from a hosting team ever circulate with a roll of 2 part tickets for a 50-50 drawing ? ... seems to me that the host team could make out as well as a visiting team or parent ...

I never knew what a friendly was either, until I started reading about them on other boards. We would sometimes scrimmage in IL. but it must have been much more loosely organized, because rarely were umpires paid for and the concession stand wasn't open. We certainly didn't pay for a field.

Hearing about this from another part of the country, I would have needed to be told "no outside food," because I wouldn't have known.

I was wondering, if maybe the offending team was having a birthday party or something?

bringing in outside food isnt a problem, in my opinion.
You just shouldn't flaunt it, or set up your lunch right next to the snack bar.
Setting up a full-on bbq is fricking ridiculous and rude.
we usually bring sandwiches, water/gatorade, fruit.
but we usually get something from the snack bar if the host is doing a good job, or if the menu is tempting.
we usually need an extra water, gatorade, etc.
And if the snack bar has polish sausage or bratwurst, im getting one!

I agree we also bring light snacks and buy somethign from the snack bar. I know Nemesis has a good one with a wide variety of options, they have great nachos and also a great chicken cesar salad. I know its hard to have to many items but at least a few wide variety of choices.

We played at Alicia last weekend, the A's put on a nice friendly. Had a great hot dog for lunch, the kid ate a chicken bowl, bought water and Gatorade all day and headed to oggi's after the last game, it was a perfect day. I knew it was acceptable especially when I saw some A's colors flying around at Oggi's
